General Hospital spoilers tease for now that Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) won’t be coming back to Port Charles any time soon.
As viewers know, Spencer and Esme Prince (Kristen Avery Pohl) had a deadly confrontation on a yacht in Paris and they both fell overboard.
Unfortunately, no bodies were found and rescue efforts turned up nothing. Originally, Nicholas Chavez had just taken a leave of absence from the show, but according to TVLine.Com, Chavez will not be returning to the role. It also bears noting that the show has yet to confirm anything.
General Hospital Spoilers – Will Spencer Cassadine be back soon?
Spencer’s absence leaves Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) in storyline limbo. There seems to be quite a bit of story left for Trina and Spencer. Had Chavez eventually returned, that romance would likely have continued. And that still is a possibility if the role of Spencer is recast with another actor.
But right now, the show seems more focused on the return of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and the drama coming out of that. Spencer’s return seems to be on the backburner for now no matter who would be playing the role.
GH Spoilers – What’s next for Trina Robinson?
So if Spencer doesn’t return in the near future, what does than mean for Trina. Right now, Trina is still grieving Spencer’s death. She’s dropped out of college, at least for the tine being.
But at some point, Trina will begin to move on. And that even mean a brand new romance, perhaps with Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) who has recently joined the police force after breaking up with Trina’s best friend, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy).

Chances are that potential romance with Dex, or anyone else for that matter, would be a slow burn. Trina loved Spencer deeply, and feeling like that don’t fade easily.
By the time Trina falls in love again with someone else, that might finally be the time for Spencer to finally return. Trina might find herself torn between two loves, and there’s no telling who she will with. Of course, the show still hasn’t confirmed Chavez’s exit.

The chemistry between Sprina won't be very good if GH recasts Spencer. So, GH's best bet is to have Trina move on to someone better slowly and completely, without having Spencer to return to her EVER! I always knew that the love story of Spencer & Trina was going to be doomed from the start, ever since that fake blood incident at the gallery! And those turtledoves that were given by Cyrus Renault - the man who held Trina and her mama at gunpoint! ALL BAD OMENS! A serious, romantic relationship for a Cassadine is always a blessing, but a CURSE at the end of the day! (Dream, Jasam, Julexis, Krikkos, Nava, Nem, Nia, Niz, Pristina, Rexis, S&L, Sprina, Tristina, Valentina, Vanna etc.)
