General Hospital Spoilers: What Does Nikolas Have Planned for Ava — and Who Can Save Her?

General Hospital spoilers leak Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) might not be able to set foot in Port Charles without being snatched up by the PCPD, but that doesn’t mean his dream of revenge against Ava Jerome (Maura West) is a fruitless endeavor.

Fans were left assuming Nikolas’ departure to Europe would mean he’d have to cut his losses and leave Ava to think he was dead. Moreover, he’d have to leave her thinking she won and had the last laugh.

Quite the contrary, Nikolas intends to take everything he promised from Ava — including her relationship with her daughter, Avery Corinthos (Grace Scarola).

He’s just got a different way of going about things now, thanks to his wanted status in the U.S. Nikolas might be headed out of the country for good, but Ava is coming with him.

General Hospital Spoilers — Mason, the Independent Contractor

We knew something wasn’t quite right when Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) went to Pentonville recently to meet with Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). He seemed all too casual, and there was no implication of a follow-up to come even though Cyrus gave orders to more or less dispose of Ava.

It didn’t seem like Mason was coming back to the prison to take orders from Cyrus again. In fact, it seems as though he was ready to strike a match and burn down his relationship with the guy altogether.

That’s an interesting turn of the tables after the last year of Mason insisting Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) can’t just up and quit on their boss whenever he feels like it. Clearly, Mason showed up at Wyndemere and absconded with Ava in tow. There can only be one place he was taking her, and it wasn’t on Cyrus’ orders.

GH Spoilers Claim Ava Won’t Know Her Captor For Some Time

Maybe Mason actually likes Ava. Maybe he’s tired of being the lackey and wants some control in the game. Maybe he’s just a complete coward and doesn’t want to anger Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) or Nikolas.

Either way, it makes the most sense that Mason did not kill Ava. But that doesn’t mean he won’t let Cyrus think he did. Meanwhile, she’ll be alive and held captive by her own sinister Cassadine ex-husband.

That should do the job, separating her from Avery in a way she never saw coming. But will Ava know right away that it’s Nikolas who is detaining her, or might he let her stew on it and think it has something to do with Mason and his boss back home?

General Hospital Spoilers — Who Rescues Ava?

Obviously, GH can’t handle losing someone like Ava — and neither can we. Rest assured there have been no rumors of her exit.

Maura West seems to be quite happy where she is. But that doesn’t mean we won’t miss her on-screen for a bit. There is only so much writers can do with a woman being held captive. It would make sense that the story parallels those we’ve seen before — most specifically with Laura Collins (Genie Francis).

Thus, it also makes sense that Laura — who is already trying to track her son down — might be the person who stumbles upon the truth and rescues Ava in the end. Despite her former daughter-in-law trying to kill her son, we know Laura will do the right thing.

But will she be able to confront the truth about her oh-so-Cassadine son and how far that apple hasn’t fallen from the tree?

It looks like we’re getting a bit of foreshadowing about that now with Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) primed to go up against Laura’s never-ending compassion and willingness to give her son the benefit of the doubt, even in the face of the truth that paints him as every bit as Cassadine as his predecessors.

Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to see how this shakes out.
