She was struggling with her mom, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), not being there, but the last thing she expected was to see her dad kissing his ex while finding out that her mom is knocked up and kept it from her on purpose.
We’re all waiting anxiously for Trina to call her mom out, right? Rumor has it that time is nearing. Trina is collecting her thoughts perhaps, but we know she’s not going to let this simmer on the side burner for too long.
She’s going to want to clear the air with her mom and ask her point blank why she didn’t trust her enough to tell her. But will she blurt it all out at the exact wrong time that leaves Portia having to defend herself to more than just her daughter?
Hurt People Hurt People
As the saying goes, “hurt people hurt people.” Sometimes it might be true. In this case, Trina is devastated that Portia is pregnant when her parents are splitting up. She hasn’t been able to make peace with that, let alone the idea of another child coming into the mix without a happy nuclear family at the helm.
But given that Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) knows about the pregnancy and is still smooching on Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) over the holiday, Trina is really torn up over her parents’ impending divorce.
Further, knowing that Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) and Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) knew before her too made it sting all that much more. Will Trina clap back at her mom out of concern — or revenge?
Can We Blame Her?
Trina is not just upset and frustrated but angry. Who wouldn’t be? Stella stoked that fire with her reaction to the news of Curtis leaving Portia in part because he wants to be with Jordan.
It’s a bit ironic given how hard Stella fought years ago to keep those two together, even to Portia’s detriment. Nonetheless, Trina is trying to process this news, and it’s going to leave her angry at both of her parents.
From the outside looking in, she probably thinks they’re being very irresponsible, but things will get a whole lot worse if she realizes her dad isn’t the only party who has moved on.
Enter Isaiah
Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) came into the picture a while ago, but only Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and Ava Jerome (Maura West) know that the baby Portia is carrying may be Isaiah’s, not Curtis’.
Rumors are swirling that Trina is going to catch her mom in a compromising position with Isaiah just like she did with Curtis and Jordan. Will that send her over the edge and force her to question how her mother is comfortable getting so close to another man when she’s pregnant with her husband’s child? Uh oh!
