General Hospital spoilers and updates tease that Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) could be channeling a teenage Laura Collins (Genie Francis) emotionally. Could Rocco be headed for a breakdown eventually like Laura did years later after she killed two people?
Laura Wasn’t Much Older Than Rocco When She Killed Two People In One Year
Laura wasn’t much older than Rocco when she killed two people in one year-she was seventeen, and Rocco is sixteen.
Both killings were accidental; first, David Hamilton (Jerry Ayres) and second, Theresa Carter (Alicia Arden); Hamilton was a friend of Rick Webber’s (Chris Robinson) who was crushing on Laura’s mother.
Nurse Carter was a lover of Rick’s-and Lesley Webber (Denise Alexander) took the fall for Hamilton’s death, and Theresa Carter’s was covered up.
However, there are important differences-Laura immediately blocked out both killings and had her breakdown, going into a catatonic state for many months, years later when her memories came back.
Rocco hasn’t blocked out shooting WSB Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) to save Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) lives, but he probably wishes he could.
Laura Was Eaten Up With Guilt And Blocked The Events Out-Rocco Is Falling Apart!
Laura was subconsciously eaten up with guilt for the accidental killings, that is pretty much guaranteed, otherwise they wouldn’t have been so traumatic.
Rocco’s trauma, however is inward and outward, and for him, it’s the thought that he could have taken a human life, regardless of how evil that human is!
Britt tried to comfort Rocco and even told him he was a hero-nearly killing someone because that person could have killed someone else is a lot different than murder!
But even though in his mind, Rocco knows he didn’t just set out to kill a WSB agent, in his heart, he can’t forgive himself-and because of that he’s falling apart!
Laura’s Guilt Punished Her Many Years Later, Rocco’s Guilt Punishes Him Now
Laura’s guilt punished her many years later, while Rocco’s guilt punishes him now-perhaps the one person who Rocco could be helped by to make sure he’s not heading for a breakdown is Laura.
She would understand, better than anyone, the guilt for taking a human life, accidental or not-and luckily for Rocco-and Cullum-Cullum didn’t die.
However, chances are, Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) won’t want to involve her mother in Rocco’s situation and it will remain a secret.
Too many people already know that secret-Lulu, Not Nathan West, (Ryan Paevey) Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) Britt, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and Jason.
If Rocco can’t come to the point of forgiving himself and seeing things more clearly, he may be headed for a breakdown like his grandma Laura had-only much sooner!
