What Is Really Up With Ric?
What is truly happening with Ric; is he involved in something dubious, or is it a different kind of secret; perhaps a significant or even a troubling one? However, it may not necessarily relate to Sonny, or could it-yhis week, we witnessed Sonny’s frustration after he discovered Ric had lied.
Consequently, Sonny enlisted Ethan Lovett (Nathan Dean) to gather information for him, and Ethan reported that Ric had a serious discussion with Ava at the Metro Court.
Yet, Ethan exaggerated his observations; he was making almost absurd assumptions about Ric and Ava’s conversation filling in the blanks influenced by his dislike of Ric.
It was essentially a mountain of conjecture, and Sonny did challenge that to a degree since it’s evident that Ethan desires Ric to be removed so he can gain Sonny’s attention and influence.
Ethan Is Hiding A Lot Of Secrets Himself!
Ironically, Ethan is harboring significant secrets himself, but then Sonny caught Ric in a lie. The situation shifted when Sonny inquired about Ric’s whereabouts, knowing he was actually speaking with Ava at the Metro Court.
Ric claimed he was at the DA’s office for a meeting, but Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) later confirmed to Sonny that Ric had never been at the office for any reason.
So, Sonny leaped to the conclusion that Ric is being disloyal to him-he informed Justine that this was Ric’s final opportunity to be his brother, and now he has ruined it.
Fortunately, Justine managed to calm Sonny down, explaining that just because Ric is hiding something, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s something detrimental to Sonny.
Sonny Frequently Jumps To Wrong Conclusions
It’s clear that he often jumps to incorrect conclusions-therefore, it’s somewhat understandable why he tends to expect the worst, especially considering Ric’s genuinely terrible actions in the past.
He has certainly betrayed Sonny multiple times before, however, this time, Ric appears to be different-there are some leaks from a typically trustworthy source regarding a rumored new storyline for Ric.
The informant mentioned that Sonny’s brother is suffering from a blood disease-while Ric may not actually face death, the rumor we received indicates that it’s a critical medical situation. Given a few recent discussions Ric has had, it genuinely seems believable
Ava And Ric’s Conversation Was Extremely Cryptic
Last week, when Ava and Ric had their conversation, we barely saw or heard any of it; we caught a glimpse, but their words were mostly inaudible. Essentially, we heard Ric mention that Ava would be pleased with the news he has.
The following day, Ric was on the phone with Ava, expressing his desire to proceed, but he insisted that complete confidentiality is necessary.
On the surface, this indeed could sound suspicious, based on both Ric and Ava’s past behavior patterns. And considering Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) is involved with Ava, one might think, “Oh, so Ric is scheming against Sonny with her;” however, this situation is probably unrelated to his brother.
Here’s What Might Really Be Going On
Here’s what might really be happening; keep in mind, Ava, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), and Christina kept Ric captive in Alexis’s basement for an entire month.
He was bound to a gurney with a ball gag in his mouth. Ric even alluded to that incident when he mentioned to Ava that he wouldn’t hold her hostage for too long, which was a nice little reference.
After Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) managed to free him, Ric headed to General Hospital where they conducted some medical examinations.
Those examinations might have revealed something alarming, perhaps something Ric was meant to investigate further. And it’s possible he finally did look into it or experienced additional symptoms, leading to some troubling findings.
Ric Told Ava She’d Be Pleased With His News
He could have told Ava she would be pleased with his update because the news is that Ric is unwell, possibly with a potentially deadly blood disease mentioned in the rumor.
He may have told her he actually owes her gratitude for the kidnapping since this has come to light. You know, Ava still harbors resentment towards him for his affection for Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) rather than her, and of course for his financial maneuver to exclude Ava from the blackmail plot.
So, the real question is, why would Ric be discussing this with Ava? Well, the rumor has it that Ric is suffering from a blood disease, and Ava has some background in that area.
Several Years Ago Ava Had Leukemia, Silas Clay Secretly Gave Her Blood Marrow From Avery
Ric might have been requesting Ava to connect him with her doctors, even though the one who initially treated her has passed away. Just to remind you, back in 2015, which is 11 years ago, she was diagnosed with terminal leukemia, and Silas Clay (Michael Easton) treated her discreetly.
He ensured that Ava received a life-saving bone marrow transplant from her daughter Avery Corinthos-Jerome (Ava and Grace Scarola), who was quite young at that time.
Following that, Silas was murdered. Therefore, I’m certain Ava has found another oncologist by now; leukemia, the type Ava had, is a blood disorder.
Ric Wouldn’t Want Family To Know Until He Knows What He’s Dealing With
If this concerns Ric’s health emergency, he wouldn’t want anyone to be informed until he’s certain about his illness, including its stage and the available options.
Ironically, he might owe Ava and the others a debt of gratitude for abducting him. Without that, Ric may not have pursued medical tests, and the blood condition could have remained unnoticed until it was far too late for treatment.
He may have deceived Sonny regarding his whereabouts because if Ric is indeed unwell, Sonny is likely one of the individuals Ric would prefer to keep in the dark. At least, until he gathers all the details about his condition and choices.
Sonny Will Distance Himself And Remain Suspicious, Later To Learn His Mistake
Ric’s brother will distance himself and remain suspicious, only for Sonny to discover he’s completely mistaken about the situation.
Additionally, Ric might be accelerating his relationship with Elizabeth, possibly out of concern that his time with her is limited; Ric cares for Sonny and desires to be a good brother.
The experience of being kidnapped and left alone to reflect on his dark thoughts and life decisions for an entire month has likely had a profound impact on him. He experienced a significant realization and is truly sincere about his relationships with both his brother and Elizabeth.
Justine Urged Sonny Not To Jump To Conclusions
Justine urged Sonny to uncover the reason behind Ric’s lie instead of jumping to conclusions about betrayal. She mentioned that everyone has their own secrets, which is understandable.
Soon, we’ll discover if the leaker was accurate, and perhaps Ava is arranging a doctor’s referral because Ric could genuinely be unwell.
Sonny will be in for quite a surprise when he learns that Ethan was mistaken and exaggerating, and that Ric hasn’t betrayed him at all. In fact, Sonny might soon feel quite guilty, as his brother Ric could be fighting for his life before everything is resolved.
