General Hospital Spoilers: Taggert’s On His Way Back-Réal Andrews Confirms Storyline Upcoming
General Hospital spoilers and updates tease Marcus Taggert’s (Réal Andrews) is on his way back to Port Charles, and apparently GH’s new writers are going to do him right.
It made no sense for viewers to be left hanging with a drunken Taggert sitting at a bar and no resolution to the story, and Réal selling cars in real life!
General Hospital Spoilers: Where Has Marcus Taggert Been When Trina Robinson Needs Him?
Fans have wondered where Marcus has been when Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) needs him, he never stopped being the father she grew up with and the father who counts.
But the writers seemed to just ignore his existence as they had Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) take his place-and even Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) never mentions Taggert. He hasn’t been on GH in over a year and the last time he was he was drunk at a bar and sharing Jordan’s place, and never even mentioned since.
Taggert and Jordan were partners in the DEA, the last two surviving members of an elite team trying to take down Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). They had him-he was in prison on the West Coast, but still running things from inside; but they’d framed him and Jordan was forced to admit to it.
GH Spoilers: Fast Forward To Now
Many of Réal’s fans have asked him on social media if he was ever coming back to General Hospital to play Taggert-until recently, he didn’t have a lot to say.
On February 20 he posted on Instagram a video and it sounded like any potential return was up in the air, and if it was meant to be it would happen. However, he also has an account on X, formerly Twitter and more recently it sounds like things have changed.
On February 29 a fan tweeted they hoped Selina Wu (Lydia Look) might have changed the paternity test and Taggert was Trina’s father after all. The fan also questioned why the show seemed to erase Taggert and he responded “stay tuned for Taggert storyline” so it sounds like he’s gotten an invitation from GH to return.
General Hospital Spoilers: Fixing What Was Wrong?
From the context of the tweet and Réal’s answer, it’s possible a rewrite is being done with Trina’s true paternity but even if not, Taggert could still be Trina’s hero.
Réal hasn’t said if he’s currently filming, but Nicholas Alexander Chavez starts filming again as Spencer Cassadine in April. There’s a possibility that even though Taggert wasn’t wild about Trina dating Spencer either, he could help find and rescue him.
Not that Trina wouldn’t be capable of doing that by herself, but right now she’s too much in grief and discouragement. No one believes Spencer made it, even with something similar happening to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) back from the dead!
