General Hospital Spoilers: Steve Burton’s Hiatus – What Will Take Jason Away Til Summer?
General Hospital spoilers reveal Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) is taking a break from Port Charles. Burton confirmed on Tuesday that he’ll be stepping back from GH — temporarily — to spend time with his family.
Highlighted in that discussion was his new-ish wife, Michelle Lundstrom. The pair married just last May and are looking forward to some quality time together this Spring. Burton reported he would be back on screen in the Summer season.
As brutal as it sounds to go months with Jason — again, we have to consider how this is going to impact current storylines. I’m sure the writers have something juicy lined up; I’m just praying it’s not another disappearing act.
Jason Takes Maxie’s Place
Remember when Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) found out that Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) was laundering his dirty money through the background of Deception Cosmetics? She wasn’t about to stand for that, and she was the only person in the organization who he wasn’t going to fool.
Unfortunately for her, Sidwell smelled that rat coming from a mile away, and he sought to silence her so-called “big mouth” — and did.
He laced the cosmetics cream she applied to her face on Heart & Home with a chemical compound that caused her heart attack and subsequent coma.
Now, it’s possible that he’ll use a similar mechanism of action to silence Jason if he thinks Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) henchman is getting too close.
GH Spoilers Say Jason Takes Anna’s Place
Jason appears to have every intention of getting rid of Sidwel just as soon as he can figure out how to gain access to Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) medication at Wyndemere so he can have it reverse engineered and replicated.
But that requires several precise steps to be taken and none of them to backfire in Jason’s face.
If you’re thinking that Jason might be the next to take Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) place, you might be right.
Anyone who gets caught snooping around Spoon Island may run the risk of ending up carted off to become a prisoner just like Britt and Anna have been.
I could see Josslyn ‘Joss’ Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) suffering similar fates if they’re not careful.
Anna and Jason Go Underground?
We don’t know what Jason’s last day on-screen is going to be before this break. What we do know is that Burton wrapped up filming his exit last Friday.
In typical fashion, GH usually has a four to six week lead time on filming, meaning we probably still have at least a month ahead of seeing Jason in action.
Shew! That gives him ample time to solve Britt’s dilemma over her healthcare needs, handle Sidwell, and fly off to France where he’ll likely attempt to rescue Anna and have to go underground to protect her from the WSB and Sidwell’s cronies.
