He’s been calmer, not lost his temper recently, and is even tolerant of Willow Cain; (Katelyn MacMullen) so, is he really changing, or is he up to something?
Sonny Didn’t Explode Over Alexis Davis Pointing Guilt Towards Michael Corinthos
It wasn’t that long ago when Sonny (Maurice Benard) hung Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) from a meat hook and then beat him up at his niece’s wedding. That was the violent Sonny we loved and hated at the same time; what happened to him? Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) tried to shift the blame for Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) shooting from her client, Willow, to Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) and succeeded.
So, when she walked into her office to find Sonny waiting for her, we expected it to hit the fan; surprisingly, it didn’t-the mobster had a logical, understanding conversation with the attorney. He didn’t yell, scream, or threaten her-Sonny’s temper is legendary, especially when defending his family, so his calm was unexpected.
Sonny Has A Soft Spot For His Ex-Daughter-In-Law Who Hurt His Son And Grandchildren?
Sonny despises Drew, but doesn’t everyone feel that way? What’s odd is that he doesn’t harbor the same feelings for Willow.
She betrayed Michael and abandoned him for his uncle, prevented his parents from visiting him in the burn unit, and attempted to take their children away, yet Sonny still manages to find some redeeming qualities in her.
Michael’s father continues to extend grace to his former daughter-in-law. He believes she is a loving mother who cares for her kids, and he doesn’t believe she shot Drew. Although Alexis has hinted at her guilt, which might have swayed his opinion, he still lacks any real anger towards her.
Is Sonny’s Calm And Tolerant Behavior Part Of A Plan?
Is it possible that Sonny has a plan to extricate his son from this predicament? Sonny’s temper tends to escalate significantly when he is not on his medication, indicating that he is indeed taking them, yet this version of Sonny is notably gentler than we have ever witnessed (with the exception of his time as Mike in Nixon Falls). There might be an explanation for this composed mob leader.
It could simply be a result of aging, or perhaps he is weary of the mob lifestyle, a sentiment he has expressed for some time. Or-might this just be the calm before an impending storm?
