General Hospital Spoilers: Roger Howarth Fan Event-Get Your Tickets And Hear His Stories!
General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal Roger Howarth will hold a fan event where you can get tickets and hear his stories. Roger shared the news on his Instagram stories.
Roger Played Three Very Different Characters During His Time On The Soap
Not many actors can claim to have portrayed three distinct characters on a single soap opera, but Roger Howarth achieved this on General Hospital from 2012 to 2023. He first played Todd Manning from Llanview, a character that crossed over from the sister soap One Life to Live.
Then, he took on the role of Franco Baldwin, originally played by James Franco, and finally, he became Austin Gatlin-Holt; as fans know, his last two characters were killed off.
Unless the ABC soap creates another storyline where they come back to life, it seems unlikely that Howarth will reprise those roles; no plans have been announced for a return. However, they will have the chance to see him in person at an event where he will share stories about his daytime career.
Event Details
Howarth took to his Instagram story to announce an exciting event: a unique “storytelling and lunch” experience happening on Sunday, March 23. Kicking off at 11:00 am, this gathering will take place at Uncle Vinnie’s Comedy Club, located at 518 Arnold Avenue in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey. Attendees will have the chance to enjoy a meal alongside the actor while he shares captivating tales from his past. Tickets are available for $96.95 and can be bought now.
A Soapy History With A Generous Sprinkling of Primetime
Howarth was discovered during a nationwide talent search and landed the role of Kent Winslow on the ABC soap opera Loving, although this part was brief.
Shortly thereafter, he was cast as Todd Manning, a character with a dark past, on the ABC soap One Life to Live. Originally intended to be a minor character, Todd quickly evolved into one of the series’ most beloved figures, earning the title of an icon from the media.
Howarth portrayed Todd intermittently since 1992, garnering significant praise for his work, including a Daytime Emmy Award in 1994. His dynamic with Kassie DePaiva’s character, Blair Cramer, captivated audiences, and they became a fan-favorite supercouple.
Roger Continued Making Waves In The Soap World
In addition to his work on One Life to Live, Howarth also took on the role of the murderer Randall Lynch in the sci-fi series Prey for four episodes. He portrayed Paul Ryan on As The World Turns.
On GH, he stepped into the role of Franco, taking over from James Franco as a regular member of the cast. However, on March 9, 2021, his character met a tragic end at the hands of Peter August, portrayed by Wes Ramsey.
He made his final appearance as Franco Baldwin on March 11, 2021, before reappearing as Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt on May 27. In November 2023, Howarth announced his departure from General Hospital.
