General Hospital spoilers tease that Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) two sons have each reacted quite differently to Jason’s sudden return after more than two years.
Jason was forced to work for the FBI that whole time which means his friends and family all believed he was dead. Jason’s son by Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzym), practically worships the ground Jason walks on.
Meanwhile, Jason’s son with Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) Jake Webber (Hudson West), has had much difficulty forgiving Jason for being gone.

Elizabeth encouraged Jason to keep trying to Jake. She said she completely understand why Jake is so angry at Jason, but she also told Jake that Jason would keep trying to make amends.
Elizabeth was correct. Jason approached Elizabeth with an idea. He wanted to take Jake out for a day on the lake for some fishing or possibly going out on a speedboat.
While Elizabeth didn’t really have a chance to answer, she likely won’t stand in the way of Jason’s plan as long as Jake agrees.

But a father and son day at the lake may not be the best of ideas right now. As viewers know, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), has recently taken over control of the Pikeman Group, a global arms dealing organization.
Jason spent the last two years undercover trying to take down Pikeman for the FBI. His cover has been blown and Valentin believes he knows too much and needs to be eliminated.
There is every possibility that they could come after Jason when he’s isolated on the lake with Jake. Father and son could find themselves in grave danger. Jason is more than capable of protecting his son, but he could be distracted if Jake finally decides to accept Jason back in his life.

I believe that yes, if Jake would give just an inch to allow Jason to TRY and make up for all those years he was absent it would do him (Jake) a world of good. Giving just a small effort to let Jason in, I think Jake could honestly evaluate if his world be better with his dad in it or not. I get why he is angry and hurt and if (or when) he learns Carly was the reason it may negatively affect any progress that has been made but years from now I suspect his regrets will be many if he could have had his dad in his life but was too stubborn to know for sure. I personally have seen it happen that way too many times.
