General Hospital spoilers tease that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) hasn’t really had much to do ever since Peter August (Wes Ramsey) died almost two years ago.
Sure, she tried romance with Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) but it fizzled and Austin has since been murdered. And now, Maxie is saddled with a large amount of credit card debt, hardly a fun storyline for the larger-than-life character.
There are signs that Maxie’s story will be picking up now that she has teamed up once again with Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), but what Maxie really needs is romance in her life.

Sadly, Maxie’s true love was her late husband Nathan West (last played by Ryan Paevey). Nathan was shot and killed by Cesar Faison (Anders Hove), his own father.
But perhaps Nathan’s death wasn’t everything that is appeared to be. Recently, Dr. Leisl O’Brecht (Kathleen Gati) lamented that both of her children, Nathan and Dr. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) had passed away. But wouldn’t it be great if Nathan were actually alive,

Stranger things have happened in Port Charles than Nathan possibly not being dead. Perhaps someone has taken him prisoner, and the Nathan we saw die was wearing an authentic Nathan mask.
Sure, it wouldn’t happen in real life, but in Port Charles anything is possible. And any explanation would be worth it if Maxie and Leisl get a miracle. Nathan is sorely needed in Maxie’s life.
She could always reunite with Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson), but she doesn’t seem to be interested in Spinelli in that way anymore.

Perhaps after an exciting rescue, Nathan could be returned to Maxie. She would be shocked of course and it would be an adjustment.
Nathan would have to understand that Maxie had a child with Peter after he died, but chances are he would understand that everyone believed he was dead.
And he would finally get a chance to meet his own son, James West (Gary James Fuller). It’s about time Maxie had some joy in her life, and if she won’t give Spinelli another chance, then Nathan is perhaps the best option!
