General Hospital Spoilers: Katelyn MacMullen Opens Up About Willow’s Mental Breakdown

General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) received the most devastating news of her life at court when Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) was awarded sole custody of their children.
The loss of Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) and Amelia Corinthos (Sequoia and Serenity Mork Macko) hit Willow hard, causing her to lose her grip on reality and ultimately leading to her hospitalization.
Katelyn Opened Up To Soap Opera Digest
In a recent interview with SOD, Katelyn MacMullen discussed Willow’s emotional turmoil and her disconnect from reality-she even described it as “in a sense, a mental breakdown.”
However, just because Willow has been released doesn’t mean she’s fine! It’s clear that Willow still feels confused and lost, even after returning to the home she shares with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).
“I believe she definitely snapped — there was a moment in the courtroom where she lost it, and I think there’s some delayed processing happening. Maybe even like [she’s] starting to lose it a bit as she tries to deal with this sense of emptiness,” MacMullen stated.
Willow Can’t Even Wrap Her Head Around Life Without Her Children
Willow is struggling to comprehend life without Amelia and Wiley, which explains why she’s feeling overwhelmed at the moment. This loss of custody has had a profound impact on Willow, and it will continue to influence her story.
MacMullen couldn’t reveal any significant plot points, but she did provide some interesting clues about what’s coming next. It seems that things are likely to deteriorate for Willow before they improve.
Regarding Willow’s mental health, MacMullen stated that “anything is possible” and highlighted the uncertainty surrounding it all.
Katelyn Said To Expect The Unexpected
As Katelyn MacMullen finished the interview, she encouraged viewers to “expect the unexpected.” This could indicate that Willow will make some very surprising choices due to her declining mental health. There are rumors that Willow might have been the one who placed Daisy Gilmore Corinthos (Levi Clark Coughlin) in the wrong bassinet in the nursery.

Willow may also have been involved in Sasha Gilmore Corbin’s (Sofia Mattsson) brief baby mix-up. In the June 18 episode, someone was seen watching Michael, Sasha, Wiley, Amelia, and Daisy through a window at the Quartermaine mansion.
Did Willow Sneak Out Of Drew’s House And Go To The Quartermaine Mansion?
It might have been Willow if she left Drew’s place instead of taking his advice to rest, sneaking out of the house while Drew was occupied with Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup). Additionally, someone will be seen hovering over Daisy’s crib in the June 19 episode, suggesting that Willow could be responsible for all this while in a blackout.
There’s also a possibility she is totally awake, and plotting to take Daisy in a shocking twist! MacMullen basically urged fans to brace themselves for more unexpected twists in Willow’s mental health journey, making it intriguing to see how chaotic this storyline will become!
