General Hospital spoilers indicate that Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) surprised Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) at the Nurses Ball after just having experimental surgery done just a few days prior.
Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) mentioned Kai would not be able to be released before the Nurses Ball, but he ended up surprising Trina.
Kai’s recovery from his surgery is rather fast which is troubling, and could set the stage for some troubling setbacks.
Kai Taylor Continues To Seem Fine
At the Nurses Ball and thereafter, Kai continues to seem to be on the road to recovery. He may have to check back in with the doctors to make sure that he is continuing on the right track, but Kai could neglect checking in with the doctor as he continues to feel fine and not seem to notice any side effects.
Trina might express concern, but Kai would tell her not to worry.
Kai Taylor Starts To Have Trouble Walking
One morning, Kai could wake up and get out of bed, and start to experience trouble walking. At first, we would believe that nothing is wrong,
as he soon starts to be able to resume walking normally. He would decide to keep it a secret, as he would not want to believe that this is a result of the surgery.
Trina would realize that something is off with Kai, and confront him. Kai would tell her that she is wrong, and that everything is fine. Although, he is definitely concerned by his troubles with walking.
Trina Robinson Witnesses Kai Taylor Losing Momentum When He Walks
Kai would soon find that he is having trouble walking more and more, and sooner or later Trina would notice that he loses momentum when he walks.
She would confront Kai, and after some resistance, Kai would admit that he is having some trouble walking and didn’t want to believe it.
Trina tells him that they need to go to GH immediately and get checked out by the doctor.
Kai Taylor Gets Devastating News
After being examined by the doctor, Kai’s worst fears are confirmed, and he learns that he will soon be paralyzed. And the paralysis will be permanent when it finally happens.
The surgery was only successful for a short time, and now he is regressing into being worse off than he was, which was always a possibility.
Kai would be devastated, and realize that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) is to blame for talking him into the surgery.
Drew Cain Suffers Greatly From Kai Taylor’s Setback
Kai would confront Drew, and blame him for the fact that he will soon be paralyzed permanently. Drew would tell him that there were no guarantees, and that he is very sorry that things did not work out. However, Trina and Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) see this as an opportunity to damage Congressman Drew’s reputation, and do exactly that.
Drew is livid that the public is going after him for paralyzing Kai, and Kai is very vocal about making sure that Drew talked him into the surgery and financed it.
Many PCU sports fans would also rally against Drew, and he would be more hated than he already is across Port Charles and beyond.

I would be devastated if something was to happen to Kai, poor Trina that girl just can’t catch a break first, she lose Spencer and now her boyfriend‘s gonna be paralyzed, because Drew told him to get a surgery that was gonna making better but it made worse. Actually they need to run Drew out of town for good.
Not surprised the surgery backfired. Kai was warned by many the surgery may not result as intended, but no he had to listen to Drew because Drew was telling him what he wanted to hear. Of course when things don’t go as expected, Drew will fall back on Kai being advised of the possibilities of the surgery failing. What I don’t understand, is why Kai’s parents were not consulted before he had such a possible life changing surgery as Kai is just a college student. Guess that little part of reality couldn’t have been written into the story line.
I thought he had surgery on his arm!!
