John Oliver Drops A Bombshell!
Best known for his job at HBO’s “Last Week Tonight”, the host revealed his GH run during the Sunday, June 28 episode of his show. With that said, he revealed little else, as he didn’t want to spoil anything for fans.
Still, he did present a preview photo of a scene, plus, he’s all over this week’s General Hospital preview, so fans can’t help but speculate that Oliver’s character will be the head of the WSB, “Z”.
After all, Oliver is seen in the promo, dressed in a suit and tie, with two men wearing bulletproof gear and carrying guns.
There’s a black helicopter in the background, so all arrows are pointing to Oliver being part of the WSB, at the very least.
Breadcrumbs Offered
Plus, when the news was announced about Oliver’s General Hospital run, Frank Valentini, GH’s executive producer, teased that Oliver will have a significant role in storylines.
As the cold fusion arc is wrapping up, and since Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) did exit Port Charles to turn himself into the WSB and “Z” weeks back, it’s hard not to think that Oliver might be the man behind all the mystery.
GH fans may recall that “Z” was first mentioned when Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Valentin went to see Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) at Turning Woods.
Valentin and Carly were looking to find out more about the mission he sent Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) on; however, Brennan was clear that he hadn’t done such a thing.
This is when all parties realized she had been kidnapped by WSB Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes).
Brennan advised Valentin to reach out to “Z”, but Valentin was hesitant, because he thought doing so would mean he’d head back to Steinmauer.
Still, after some weeks, Valentin decided to turn himself in to “Z,” hoping he’d help bring down Cullum while also bringing Joss home.
General Hospital viewers have been speculating on who “Z” could be for a while now. From Tristan Rogers (Dean Geyer) and Frisco Jones (Jack Wagner), a ton of names have been thrown out, so Oliver stepping into this role is a complete and utter shock.
All arrows are pointing toward Oliver being “Z,” so what are your thoughts on this casting?
