General Hospital Spoilers: Jason Morgan is Coming Back…as Jason Quartermaine

General Hospital spoilers reveal Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) will be back in Port Charles soon, but that doesn’t mean we can expect he’ll show up as himself.

In a perfect world, he rides in on his white horse to make Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) heartache fade to black, but something tells us it won’t be that seamless.

Jason has been presumed dead for nearly two years now, which means he’s been injured, in a coma, or even held against his will all of that time.

Some fans are wondering if he’s going to come home brainwashed, but that seems a little too on the nose and similar to Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) recent storyline. But could Jason be headed home as his old self — you know, his original old self?

General Hospital Spoilers — Once a Quartermaine, Always a Quartermaine?

Nearly 30 years ago, Jason was in a car accident at the hands of his brother — AJ Quartermaine (Sean Kanan) — who had been driving drunk that night with Jason being the guardian angel he’s always been and trying to stop him.

That single mistake haunted AJ for years until his untimely death, but not as much as it scarred the rest of the Quartermaine family who mourned the loss of their own.

No, Jason didn’t die, but some say he might as well have since the brain damage he sustained in the accident left him unable to remember any of his life or family. Reinventing himself as Jason Morgan, he moved on and into the ranks of the mob and never looked back.

GH Spoilers Hint Monica Will Be Over the Moon

Certainly, Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) will hardly be able to contain herself at the sight of her baby boy living and breathing. As it turns out, she hasn’t lost everyone the way she thought she had.

Moreover, Jason isn’t back to do any more bidding for the mob. She’s got a real chance to get her son back — the one she lost nearly three decades ago.

There is no more timely storyline from some fans’ perspectives. Monica hasn’t been a central figure on the show for the last few years, but this storyline could give her character a seriously moving send-off into a retirement most fans feel is palpable for her.

General Hospital Spoilers — Where Does That Leave Sonny and Carly?

If Jason comes home as a Quartermaine now, it will upend every corner of the life he left behind two years ago. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) is dead now and thus, not a factor in his return.

But not long before he took to flirting with Britt on the run, he was deeply in love with his best friend, Carly. Stepping aside to let his other best friend — Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) — resume his marriage to her, Jason and Carly never had a chance to find out what their love could have been.

This time around won’t prove any more fortunate for them if he comes home a different man. Will it be his love for her that brings him back around the bend to being Jason Morgan again? Keep checking back with us for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
