General Hospital spoilers and updates pose the question, now that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) has quit the mob, what will he do for work? And it’s not just that he quit the mob, he told Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) he couldn’t work for him at all-that even lets out Corinthos Coffee, Volonino’s Gym and Pozzulo’s!
Jason Started Out As A Med Student, He Was Studying To Become A Doctor
Jason started out many years ago as a med student, he was studying to become a doctor until trying to stop AJ Quartermaine (Sean Kanan) from driving drunk halted those plans.
Jason had a traumatic brain injury that changed his whole personality, transforming him into the Stone Cold mob enforcer for Sonny.
Jason rejected his Quartermaine family except for his grandmother Lila Quartermaine (Anna Lee) and wouldn’t have anything to do with any of them for many years.
But gradually, over the past ten years or so-and twice being presumed dead and missing-he’s started to change, softening from the brain-damaged henchman into someone with a heart!
Might he pursue a medical career again-it may be an option, but he’d have to start all over again and that would take at least twelve years of schooling-he’s got a son to support now!
Jason Isn’t Broke, And He Has Skills
Jason isn’t broke, and he has skills-he once worked at a car repair shop that Sonny had given to Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) several years ago.
Perhaps he could take that kind of work up again, even though Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) sold Xtreme Motors to Selina Wu (Lydia Look); but perhaps he could start his own repair business.
He also owned a motorcycle repair shop that burned down, he had owned that with Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) so perhaps he could start a combo business.
It’s a good question whether he will give up co-ownership in Sonny’s businesses since he told him he couldn’t work for him anymore.
Could Jason Join The Family Business, ELQ?
It’s difficult for most GH fans to picture Jason joining the family business, ELQ, but he has to do something-the only thing he inherited from Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) is a watch!
He inherited Alan Quartermaine’s (Stuart Damon) pocket watch, to be exact. Jason isn’t real familiar with the ins and outs of corporate wheeling and dealing, although he did handle everything at the Corinthos Coffee warehouse.
A lot depends on whether Sonny wants to sell Jason’s parts in his businesses back once he gets his piers and coffee warehouse back, or if Jason would be willing to do that still.
Jason’s mindset now is ANY dealings with the mob boss could bring danger to Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) through his association with him, so it looks like it’s a wait-and-see.
