General Hospital Spoilers: Is Molly Really Ready For A New Relationship? Let’s Compare TJ and Cody!
General Hospital spoilers reveal Molly Lansing Davis (Kristen Vaganos) is doing her best to navigate the waters of a new relationship with Cody Bell (Josh Kelly).
To say they were destined from the start would be wrong. Nothing has been more awkward than watching Molly try to feel comfortable enough to let her hair down and be herself with someone who isn’t TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow). At the same time, we have to question whether she was ever really capable of doing that with him either.
Domestic partnership or not, their biggest issue was that Molly wasn’t vulnerable or open with him, and now it appears she’s making the same mistakes with Cody.
TJ Needed More
TJ found his way out of the domestic partnership he shared with Molly because he felt like she had already vacated the relationship.
He felt he was grieving the death of their child alone, and that no matter how hard he tried to be vulnerable with Molly, she was coping in a way that felt like avoidance to him, and he couldn’t bear going through that isolation any longer.
To Molly, she was just getting through it the only way she knew how, and she didn’t feel she had the bandwidth to cope with her own grief while carrying any part of his too.
GH Spoilers Say the Bar May Be Lower with Cody
It’s not that TJ was too needy, but Cody may still need a whole lot less. Every time that Molly has more or less ghosted him, Cody is still there when she comes back.
He’s been patient, waiting however long it took for her icy demeanor to thaw. Really, Molly was resisting Cody every bit as much as she was resisting getting to know herself again.
It’s anyone’s guess how she lost who she was over the years. But Cody seems to bring out a lighter side of her that is less serious, and possibly less adult. But is juvenile always better?
Molly is a Mess!
Don’t get it twisted. Just because Molly is playing things fast and loose doesn’t mean she’s comfortable with her new lifestyle at all. She seems to be rather insecure.
Her interest in Cody also seems to be dependent on how interested she perceives him as being in her — which she isn’t always on-target with. With how emotionally unavailable she was with TJ, there isn’t much that signals she has changed.
She still withdraws from Cody the second she doesn’t feel like her feelings may be reciprocated.
She still assumes the worst in any situation, shuts down instead of communicating, and makes irrational assumptions that risk destroying the relationship instead of fighting to save it.
