General Hospital Spoilers: Drew’s Long Term Plan, Go Into Politics And Replace Congressman McConkey?

General Hospital spoilers and rumors tease Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) has become quite ambitious as of late, begging Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) to introduce him to a congressman friend.

It turns out Congressman McConkey (Sam McMurray) was a good friend of her father Dan Reeves (uncast character) and she obliged, although Drew went a little over the top!

General Hospital Spoilers: Drew’s Coming Up With All Kinds Of Projects

Drew came off a little too strong at first for McConkey’s tastes, and he had questions for Nina as to who this guy was and why she brought him. McConkey seemed to play hardball with Drew until he sufficiently explained both himself and his project he wanted support for; but Drew finally won him and his support over.

A bit of Drew’s compassion seemed to shine through when McConkey revealed his diagnosis of stage four lung cancer, Drew’s late son Oscar Nero (Garren Lake Stitt) possibly coming to mind.

But Drew’s ambition seems to be outpacing his compassion these days, and his hot romps in the office with Nina are totally out of character.

There was a time when Drew pushed Oscar’s mother, Kim Nero (Tamara Braun) away, her wanting to make another baby with him after Oscar’s death; something in Drew has changed!

GH Spoilers: A More Ambitious And Aggressive Drew

Before Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) returned and Drew broke up with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) Drew did mention he needed to be more assertive.

It’s not that Drew, a former Navy Seal was ever a pushover, but most of that part is buried in his mind in a mix of his and Jason’s memories.

But at times, Drew has gone beyond the pale recently with his changes-and his ambition seems to be increasing; one could see his brain working overtime when he heard McConkey’s dilemma.

But there is still that idealistic part of him in there somewhere, in the recesses of his mind-the part that has spurred him to do heroic things.

That showed strongly with his recent pitch to Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) to become a spokesperson for a charity dealing with bone marrow transplants that Aurora Media is publicizing.

General Hospital Spoilers: Drew Could Really Make A Difference As A Congressman

Despite Drew’s prison record, which in reality also stemmed from his heroism, taking the bullet so to speak for Carly’s crimes, he realizes he could really make a difference in congress.

He’s not sure if his prison record would affect his chances to run for McCoskey’s seat when he steps down or not-especially since when contested, he got an early release.

On the other hand, the thought of a political career energizes Drew’s ambitions, and he thinks about his Navy Seal history and if it would help his campaign.

Drew has remembered more of his past as the years have gone by, it’s very easy for him to distinguish his own memories from Jason’s. At times it does get a little awkward when he’s around Michael and a Jason memory pops up of changing his baby diapers!
