General Hospital Spoilers: Cullum Plotting to Oust Dante and Promote Cassius as New Police Commissioner?
General Hospital spoilers and updates suggest that Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) might begin to see Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) as a challenge that requires resolution. In the April 2 episode, Dante confronted Cullum at GH, and the atmosphere was thick with tension.
Cullum Was Angry When Dante Questioned Him
Cullum reacted angrily to Dante’s inquiries about the victim, yet Dante couldn’t shake the suspicion that Cullum was concealing something.
The fact that Cullum knew where to locate Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) at Pier 55 struck Dante as particularly strange. Although Cullum is unaware of who actually shot him that night, there are more significant matters at stake.
The last thing Cullum desires is for Dante to start investigating and expose the dubious operation he’s running alongside Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota), and Dante’s demeanor irritates Cullum.
It’s evident that Dante is not intimidated by Cullum, who is accustomed to having people around him shrink back in fear.
Cullum May Put A Target On Dante’s Back, Realizing He Could Be Trouble
Cullum realizes that Dante could obstruct the progress he aims to achieve with Sidwell, leading him to consider getting rid of Dante altogether. It’s not hard to picture Cullum preferring to have the phony Nathan West, also known as Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey), take over the role of police commissioner instead.
However, Cassius might hesitate if Cullum proposes this plan. Given that ‘Nathan’ has only recently returned to the force, he might genuinely question his chances of promotion, even with Dante out of the way.
Still, Cullum could argue that ‘Nathan’s’ previous experience at the PCPD should be taken into account and push Cassius to make it happen.
Having The PCPD Commissioner Under His Thumb Would Give Cullum An Edge
Having the police commissioner of Port Charles under his thumb would undoubtedly give Cullum a significant edge. Nonetheless, Cullum might believe that Dante must be ousted from his role by any means necessary.
The simplest approach could be to plant a suggestion in Sidwell’s mind about Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) needing to face a similar loss, proposing a ‘son for a son’ retribution.
In essence, Cullum might assert that Sonny had Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo) eliminated and therefore deserves to lose Dante in return. Although Cullum is the one who actually took out Marco, he will never want Sidwell to find out the truth!
Cassius/Nathan Would Be In A Tough Spot
All of this would land Cassius in a tough spot, as Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) and Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) would be heartbroken if anything were to happen to Dante. Cassius might fear that it could push Rocco to his breaking point, leading him to confess something shocking.
This scenario could set Cassius on a quest to safeguard Dante while maneuvering through the complicated directives from Cullum and Sidwell.
