General Hospital Spoilers: Ava’s Tiny Mistake Could Expose Brennan’s Grave – Is the Tick the Clue That Busts Her?

Ava’s trip into the woods leaves behind an unexpected clue that could potentially connect her to Brennan’s secret burial site.

General Hospital spoilers and updates tease Ava Jerome’s (Maura West) got a buggy dilemma to deal with, and the time clock’s just “tick-ing” away! Will the tick that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) found on Ava’s neck lead to suspicions?

Key Takeaways

  • Ava’s tick bite could raise questions about where she’s been.
  • A hospital visit may force her to explain her recent trip into the woods.
  • Brennan’s shallow grave could turn Ava’s little bug problem into a much bigger nightmare.

Ava Was Forced To Help Drew Bury Brennan In The Nature Preserve

Ava was forced to help Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) bury Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna) in the nature preserve, just shy of the Quartermaine property.

The location was in the deep woods, so ticks likely abound-in a nature preserve, there’s not likely to be any pesticides used, even against ticks, which can spread nine kinds of diseases!  One is Lyme Disease, another is Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, and there are several kinds of bacterial infections and Alpha-Gal syndrome, which makes one allergic to red meat!

Any of those conditions could cause Ava quite a bit of trouble, and make her very ill. But that’s not all that nasty little tick could cause-it could be traced to Brennan’s grave, and incriminate Ava!

Where Tickborne Illness Is Common, Ticks Are Tracked To Location As A Matter Of Public Safety

Where tickborne illness is common, especially if there happens to be an outbreak, it’s not  unusual for health departments, in partnership with entomologists-scientists who study insects-to track them.

It’s the same process as tracking everything from bat colonies to bunny rabbits, in the cases of rabies outbreaks-they have to know where the animals are to warn people to stay away.

In the case of tickborne illness, it may be prudent to do something to exterminate the ticks, protected nature preserve or not-it’s a public health hazard.

And if there is tickborne illness in an area, then like people bitten by animals in rabies areas, they have to be checked for it, as a matter of public safety, and all cases are documented.

Ava’s Freaked Out At The Hospital, As She’s Checked Out By Dr. Isaiah Gannon

Ava’s freaked out at the hospital, as she’s checked out by Dr. Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson); it’s a possibility that Nina wasn’t able to remove the tick, so they go to GH.

Nina did mention that the tick was very dug into Ava’s neck, and so they may go to the hospital to have it removed. Ava is squeamish and grossed out over the thought of the bug dug into her skin, and asks Isaiah, “how sick can this bug make me?”

But if there is a tick tracking program in place, then Isaiah will have to know where Ava was exactly to be able to report the tick bite and type of tick-especially if it tests positive for a disease.

It sounds like it does, and Ava does too-and when Brennan’s shallow grave eventually is found, it will lead to suspicions!
