General Hospital Fans Launch Petition For Paige Herschell Return

Paige Herschell ended her run as Jacinda Bracken on General Hospital (GH) this week, and her exit was already confirmed. But ABC fans don’t want her to leave forever, so they started a petition to bring her back.

The Exit Was Story-Driven

Soap Opera Digest confirmed that the exit was simply driven by the narrative and wrapped up her storyline that began in April last year.

Celeb Dirty Laundry reminded General Hospital fans saw that Jacinda was involved in a scheme to drug Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), which threatened Michael Corinthos’ (Rory Gibson) parental custody.

Not surprisingly, when he found out, Michael ended their relationship and paid her off to leave Port Charles for a new life in Australia.

Paige Says Goodbye

Recently, Paige Herschell took to social media and thanked her fans for their support. But she also teased a potential future return, noting that she would keep her wardrobe on hand just in case the writers call her back.

When Michael Fairman TV posted about it on their Instagram, they wrote, “Even on her way out, in her final scenes, @paige2stage found a way to break my heart when Michael @rory_gibson dumped Jacinda and it reminds her of her past of never being good enough for someone like Michael.”

And right at the end, the post said, “How do you feel about Paige exiting stage left in a storyline-dictated move at GH?”

The Petition 

Most of the comments were about GH fans feeling sad that Paige Herschell left. One person wrote, “I’m very sorry to see her go. The character has so much potential. Kudos on a job well done!”

But others already made a plan to try and get her back on General Hospital. @creativepiya4 said, “I started a petition to get Paige to stay on GH!”

Unfortunately, those who read the link said it didn’t work properly. But we checked it out on Thursday and it is up and running on Change.Org.

The Arguments In Favor

The reasons why the fan wanted Herschell to stay were quite long, and they included “the joy that” she brought to GH viewers.

One sentence said that she “has a unique and captivating depth” in her characterization of Jacinda Bracken.

So far, only 22 people have shared the petition, and one comment arrived. That commenter said, “Paige is a great actress and brings much depth to Jacinda.”

Some Verified Signatures Arrived

So far, only four verified signatures have arrived, but it is still a very new petition and it does show some interest by fans for a return by Herschell.

Whether the campaign will influence the ABC execs remains to be seen. Fan petitions have previously called on networks to retain characters or bring them back, but they don’t guarantee a casting decision.
