General Hospital Laura Wright Announces Exciting Upcoming Movie Appearance

General Hospital Laura Wright Announces Exciting Upcoming Movie AppearanceGeneral Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that Carly Spencer is busy right now in the land of Port Charles, not only juggling two men – Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) – but continuing to meddle in the lives of her friends and family!

As it turns out, her portrayer, Laura Wright, also has a jam-packed schedule, recently announcing a cameo in an upcoming film.

Soapbox Cameo Confirmed

David Duchovny, best known for his role in the X-Files, has a major film project on the go, co-writing and starring in the comedy “Soapbox”. The move centers on the struggles of a daytime drama actor far past his glory years.

Soap Opera Digest (SOD) recently reported that Days of Our Lives star Christopher Sean (Paul Narita) and former soap veteran Vincent Irizarry are slated to have appearances, and it seems someone else is set for a spot as well.

Laura Wright re-tweeted SOD’s story about Soapbox and Irizarry’s role on the social media platform X, and she added a caption that read, “Someone else may have a cameo in this movie as well.” Two winky-face emojis and two raised-hands emojis accompanied this caption.

Laura Wright Knows The Movie Ropes

This is big news; however, this isn’t the first time Wright has been seen on the silver screen.

In 2015, she had an appearance in the film “Joy”, which starred Robert De Niro, Jennifer Lawrence, and Bradley Cooper.

Wright was cast along with her fellow GHer, Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos), Donna Mills (who was also on GH playing Madeline Reeves but is also known for her primetime soap work on Knots Landing), as well as Susan Lucci (Ally My Children’s Erica Kane). The foursome played actors in a soap opera.

Back then, Wright told SOD that she got the call for Joy around the late fall of 2014 and was sworn to secrecy about the part.

She added, “And then there we were, working on scenes with Jennifer Lawrence and Robert De Niro and Virginia Madsen, who is a huge daytime fan.”

Wright added, “She was just amazing to hang out with. Hanging out with Robert De Niro on set didn’t suck, either!”

Soapbox began filming in L.A. this past March, and as of this writing, no release date has been announced.
