General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Maura West (Ava Jerome Cassadine) is talking about her character and what she has to say could surprise you.
Normally fans are used to seeing the blonde vixen mixing it up with the bad boys, in particular her disloyal husband Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma).
But she is also the aunt to her late brother Julian Jerome’s son Leo Quartermaine (Easton Sweda). The actress recently shared some thoughts about this seldom-seen role. General Hospital Spoilers – Maura West Speaks Out
West made her thoughts known during a General Hospital Fantasy Events Zoom. Her former As the World Turns co-star Michael Park (ex-Jack Snyder) was on as well and a fan asked her about Leo’s autism story. The implication was whether the show will bring Ava into the plot at some point.
West said, “I don’t know. I hope so. I think the tricky thing with her being his aunt…she’s not anymore, right? Because he was adopted by…[Ned Quartermaine] Wally Kurth adopted him so nicely…and Wally Kurth is a hero of mine for many reasons, but yes, I love working with young actors, and that young actor is a doll.”

West said, “I love working with young people. And yeah, I think the autism story is timely. I would like to go further into that. The answer is yes to that. I don’t know if that would happen. I don’t know if they’ll use Ava to focus on that. It’d be nice if they did. I would think it would be more Olivia and Wally.”
What Happens Next in Port Charles, New York?
While it’s true that Leo’s biological father is presumed dead, that doesn’t mean that Ava can’t or won’t be a part of his life in a meaningful way. For now, Leo is a well-adjusted young man who has plenty to occupy his time, as in his recent cute foray into matchmaking when he shared some “Sicilian Thunderbolts” with unsuspecting guests!
