General Hospital (GH) Spoilers: Spencer Struggle To Stomach Taking Ace Away From Esme — And Trina Wonders What Changed

General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) has always known Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) to be a conniving and manipulative woman who only cares about herself. She was the ex-girlfriend who drove a wedge between him and his father, Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) — the same woman who slept with Nikolas, and even tortured Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West). It’s not hard to understand how Esme ended up that way, given who her parents are. But despite all of this, Spencer couldn’t help but notice one thing when he brought Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) back from Greenland: Esme genuinely loves her son. How is this shot to Spencer’s heart going to sit with him as he tries to carry out his plan to weasel Ace out of Esme’s care?

General Hospital Spoilers — A New Take

Spencer was completely convinced that he was doing the right thing by planning to take Ace away from Esme. But now? Now, he’s going to start seeing things in a different light. The way that Esme cares for her child, the way she instinctively knows what to do when he cries or when he needs feeding – it’s all so… natural. That will carry weight with Spencer, who knows how it feels to grow up without that maternal figure in his life. Maybe he doesn’t have all the answers, after all. Maybe he’s not quite the expert he thought he was.

General Hospital Updatess – Trina RobinsonIsn’t Happy

Trina never necessarily plotted to take Ace away from Esme as it is; that was all Spencer. She was just supporting the man she loves — not that she’s told him that. But if Trina was being honest, she would tell Spencer how uncomfortable it makes her feel that he’s under one roof with his ex-girlfriend again, and they’re both bonding with Ace — together. So when Spencer tells Trina he’s not surely going after custody of Ace is the right thing to do anymore, she might question whether something is amiss between him and his former flame.

What To Do, What To Do…

Spencer’s original plan to steal Ace away from Esme wouldn’t have been easy to pull off anyway. Esme is smart and capable. She’s done nothing but cares for her child, and it was hardly her fault that he was kidnapped when Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) had his henchmen break into Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) home and knock Esme unconscious. Spencer never really had any dirt to hold against Esme, and what he did have would pale in comparison to his two-time felony convictions. Still, Trina isn’t going to be happy to hear Spencer is content to just share his brother with Esme and be a family. How is he going to keep her happy while not sacrificing his new family? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
