General Hospital (GH) spoilers divulge that legendary actor Kin Shriner (Scott Baldwin) posted on social media the enigmatic words, “Scotty’s run is done.” It didn’t take long for confused fans to start speculating what exactly these words meant – done as in done-done, or done as in see you after my vacation?
After all, plenty of daytime stars get extended time off as part of their gig. At GH alone, longtime stars Genie Francis (Laura Webber) and Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) take long vacations each year. The fans know to expect their absences and the writers write around it. Kin has been on as long as Francis, with both going back to the 80s. They deserve time off for all the years they have devoted to the show.
General Hospital spoilers: Kin Shriner Leaves Enigmatic Message
At the same time Kin thanked fans for their support, which if viewed a certain way could have sounded like a goodbye. This is what he wrote: “Thanks @GeneralHospital fans for all the encouraging mentions Scotty’s run is done so heading to fla to ride Vespa around the tropics !!!!!!”
He didn’t exactly say how long he would be gone or if and when he may come back. Naturally fans began to chatter. If Kin is aware of the hubbub, he hasn’t acted to quell fans’ fears. Maybe he’s on a sand bar somewhere in Margaritaville with Jimmy Buffet?
GH spoilers: Will Kin Shriner Return to The ABC Soap?
Cooler heads think that Shriner meant his current run is done and now he’s off to enjoy a little down time. Scotty has been a core character for decades, if he left there would be a wrap up story, a party, a reminiscence event, etc. None of that seems to be on the horizon.
Instead, a couple of his storylines have wrapped. His loved one Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) is now back after a kidnapping, and his trial representing Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) ended this week. Scotty is free as a bird. Maybe he and Liesl will decide to escape the PC doldrums and sunbathe in a sunnier clime.
General Hospital spoilers: What Happens Next in Port Charles, New York?
What we do know is that Kin is not off the show due to noncompliance with ABC’s coronavirus vaccination mandate: He has confirmed his vaccination status via social media. Until we hear otherwise we expect to see Kin for a long time to come.

Why didn’t just tell Ingo and Steve that they had to take weekly test, at their own expense. Now it feels like the show has weak storylines. It’s like we are back in the 70’s. Now the show bores me. And why in the +*^# did you get rid of Emme? It looks like you are trying to end the show.
Thank you, Cindy
Why can't GH kill off Peter and get rid of that story line and take o;d Cassidine with him. GET RID OF PETER.
Let be real until Kin Shriner finally leave this world alive that Scot Baldwin will always return to the show in a regular segment.
When did they get rid of Esme, I think she is still on the show, BUT I wish they would Please wrap up Maxie story the baby is getting big now and bonding with Brooklyn.
