General Hospital (GH) spoilers and rumors tease that Jeff Webber (Richard Dean Anderson) will return to General Hospital to reunite with Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) in future episodes of General Hospital!
General Hospital Spoilers And Rumors – Jeff Webber Has Recently Been Mentioned
General Hospital spoilers and rumors tease in this possible on-set leak that a former General Hospital star may have been convinced by Frank Valentini to return to daytime television to reprise a role, and reunite with his former love. The exact wording is “Would this daytime vet stoop to coming back to soaps to reunite with his old onscreen flame?”
Since the possible leak identifies the daytime vet as male, it cannot be Emma Samms reprising Holly Sutton Scorpio and reuniting with Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) although that may happen as well. However, Jeff Webber, originally played by Richard Dean Anderson was mentioned in recent episodes. Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) recently told Elizabeth Webber Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) that her father had called to ask if she was okay when he heard her late husband Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) had been killed.
Liz doesn’t have a good relationship with him and that could be because he cheated on her mother with the late Naomi Dreyfus (Gigi Bermingham) and produced her missing half-sister Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig).
General Hospital Spoilers And Rumors – Richard Dean Anderson Left General Hospital And Went On To Play The Original McGyver
Longtime General Hospital viewers will recall that Richard Dean Anderson left General Hospital to pursue primetime opportunities, and went on to play the original McGyver on ABC Primetime. This has been years ago in the 1980s and he has never returned to daytime television since that time. He did play in several other television series, including the many iterations of the Stargate franchise.
The last role on his acting resume shows he played in a comedy in 2013, called “Don’t Trust The B—In Apartment 23” which only lasted a few months. Viewers can imagine that he might be ready to swallow his pride and return to home base reprising his early 1980s character of Jeff Webber!
Longtime General Hospital viewers will also recall that he was Monica Quartermaine’s first husband, before she left him for his brother Rick Webber (last played by Chris Robinson) and later married Alan Quartermaine (Stuart Damon). The return of Jeff Webber may play into the mystery of the murder of Naomi, and the disappearance of Hayden; and he has a granddaughter he has never met born to Hayden, as well as three grandsons by Elizabeth!
General Hospital Spoilers And Rumors – It Would Be Difficult To Resurrect Rick Webber
General Hospital viewers know although it’s possible the leak may be about Chris Robinson returning to play Rick Webber, it would be difficult to resurrect this dead character. Rick has appeared as a ghost occasionally but last appeared in 2013 as a hallucination to Monica and Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot). He was bludgeoned to death by Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) in defense of Laura Collins (Genie Francis) who he had heard screaming in the attic. Longtime General Hospital viewers will recall that Laura and Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) had planned to remarry, but Laura started having post-traumatic flashbacks. It was the news of Rick’s death that put her into catatonia for years.
Although General Hospital showrunners could retcon Rick to have been in a coma and resurrect him, it would have made much more sense to have done so during the Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) storyline. Besides, Chris Robinson played in several other daytime dramas since leaving GH, and so it makes much more sense for this mystery daytime vet to be Richard Dean Anderson!

Don't see where there is any pride swallowing whereby Richard Dean Anderson is concerned. Actors as well as we in the everyday world at sometimes want to move on to something different. It is not as though he left GH and had no more show business opportunities. RDA did very well with McGiver and also Stargate SG1 and some of it's sister shows. It would be nice for Liz to have family member around. Plus, if written for correctly (and I say it lightly as it may not occur), could add much to canvas.
I was going to say the exact same thing! That "swallow his pride" statement jumped out at me, too! Sorry but if I am RDA and I read that it would be a cold day in H*ll before I would even take a CALL from anyone at GH!
