General Hospital’s Leo Falconeri (Easton Rocket Sweda) thanked General Hospital writers for the true-to-life storyline of how Autism affects a family. Sweda has an important message for fans.

General Hospital – Sweda Is Autistic

General Hospital’s Sweda has revealed in an Instagram video that he is not only playing someone who is autistic, but he has autism himself. Sweda was diagnosed with autism at a young age. Sweda admits that he didn’t learn to talk until he was four years old. Sweda is thrilled to be on General Hospital and living a great life with autism.

Sweda wants others with Autism to know that you can do anything you set your mind to even with an autism diagnosis. G.H. writers and casting directors made a very good choice when casting this role. It would be very difficult for a young actor to pretend to be autistic. Sweda plays the role of Leo very well and is true to life. Fans are eager to see what the future holds for Leo.

General Hospital – How I Got My Start

General Hospital’s Sweda also posted a transcript of his interview with star_kidz_site on his Instagram page as well. How did Sweda get his start in show business? Sweda reveals that he got his start in modeling. Sweda has worked for Joah Love, Vans, Walmart, and Zara Kids to name a few. Sweda has been modeling since he was five years old and is still working through the Zuri Agency. Sweda admits that he likes spending time with other kids while working these jobs. Sweda also loved being a part of Van’s Harry Potter campaign.

General Hospital – Why The Autism Story?

General Hospital writers have always been known for writing informative stories. Autism has become very prevalent in recent years. Unfortunately, there is a stigma associated with autism and the writers want to help get rid of that. Leo’s story shows that children with autism can still be high-functioning individuals and offers hope for parents who are in despair. Autism is not a diagnosis that means a child cannot grow up to be a productive person as it was once believed. Easton is an inspiration for children who want to be in show business because he has been very successful. Leo’s story opens up the slate to show how he may learn and grow in different ways but also his intelligence as well.

Fans have certainly taken to Easton and often comment on his portrayal of Leo. What do the writers have in store for Leo in the future? Will Ned Quartermaine and Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) be able to cope with Leo’s special needs?

Sandra McIntyre: I am an avid soap fan and have been for many years. Some of my favorite soaps were Another World, Texas, and Santa Barbara. I love to spend time with my children and grandchildren. In my spare time, I enjoy reading as well as writing fan fiction. General Hospital’s Sam and Jason are one of my favorite couples of all time.
