General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Donnell Turner plays the role of Curtis Ashford on the ABC soap. Curtis has had a whirlwind life since popping up in Port Charles, New York and it doesn’t look like he will be back burnered anytime soon.
Which is great news for fans of the easy-on-the-eyes actor who is now involved in several front and center storylines. Turner recently talked with Soap Opera Digest about the trajectory Curtis is on. Keep reading to find out what to expect in the coming days and weeks in the life of this pivotal character.
General Hospital spoilers: Curtis is a Fan Fave
After a rocky start, Curtis and Dr. Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) seem poised to be a solid couple going forward. According to Turner, “First of all, let me say, I absolutely love Brook. Absolutely love her. She’s an angel and blesses our set. And Curtis must feel the same way. The budding relationship with Portia symbolizes the turning of the page in Curtis’s life.
Not just no more Jordan, and the divorce, but the nightclub. No more P.I. [business]. Just a whole different life that doesn’t involve shadows and secrets and lies. Portia comes with a clean slate, or so we believe, and she has been nothing but a supportive angel in Curtis’s world.”
GH spoilers: Curtis is on a Roll
Curtis’s estranged dad Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) is back in his life and Turner notes this has been a frustrating relationship. “Curtis is more reluctant than TJ (Tajh Bellow).”
“But Curtis is also grappling with some understanding that TJ doesn’t have 30, 40 years of questions, so he would be a little more accepting. There’s not the same history of questions and instability and, indeed, anger. Curtis understands that; that’s why he’s not feeling betrayed. He would probably like other people to feel the same way he does, but he may be alone in that.”
General Hospital spoilers: Will Curtis Finally Find Love?
Curtis is finding comfort in the fact that his buddy Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) is back, from the dead no less! As Turner notes, “Curtis would always confide in Nina, or Jordan, or Laura, and then later, Portia, and before that, he had Hayden, but Drew was his male counterpart and best friend and so to have him back means a lot, especially now that things are a little different from when he left.”
That includes an ugly encounter this week with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) which Drew witnessed. Will they team up to help the coffee importer before it’s too late?
