Recently, fans of ABC’s General Hospital (GH) learned that one of the show’s main cast Kirsten Storms had to undergo brain surgery. The star explained her unexpected condition, which she previously ignored and passed off as side effects of her medications or the effects of aging, on her Instagram Story. She further talked about the symptoms and thanked her doctor and neurosurgeon for their careful and wonderful work.
Most of the fans of the daytime soap opera were devastated by the news and wished the actress a speedy and full recovery.
In return, the 37-year-old actress thanked them for sending positive energy her way. “It’s not gone unnoticed,” the General Hospital star promised.
The actress also thanked her “work family” for helping her in the months leading up to her surgery. In true “work family” fashion, Executive Producer Frank Valentini displayed his love and support for Kirsten Storms, who is currently in the process of recovering from her surgery.
Frank Valentini Sends Care Package to Kirsten Storms
Most of the cast of GH have spent over a decade of their lives on the show, so it’s not surprising that they’re starting to feel more like a family than workmates. Amongst the show’s long-time characters is Maxie Storm, the role portrayed by Kirsten Storms since 2005.
“I’m not gonna lie, brain surgery had me nervous, but I’m immensely thankful to my family, friends, and incredible “work family” who have been supportive, kind and loving in a time when I’ve been feeling a lot of emotions,” the actress shared on her Instagram page four days ago. “Work is a great place to be everyday and for the 2 months leading up to my surgery I found a lot of comfort being around the people I’ve worked beside for so many years.”
She also added that she’s excited and looking forward to getting back to work once she’s recovered.
Frank Valentini sent Storms a care package of prepared meals. The actress was touched by the gesture and shared it with her fans, writing, “UMM… YUMMY. Thank you @fvalentinigh for the food delivery while I’m on the mend (you’re the best).”
