General Hospital Cynthia Watros Teases The Extreme Lengths Nina Will Go For Willow

General Hospital Cynthia Watros Teases The Extreme Lengths Nina Will Go For WillowGeneral Hospital spoilers suggest Nina Reeves’ world was recently flipped upside down when her daughter, Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen), not only confessed to shooting (and paralyzing) Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), but also blackmailed her mother in one single swoop.

The character’s portrayer, Cynthia Watros, recently sat down to talk about Nina’s new drama and the extreme lengths the woman will go through to protect her daughter.

Nina Reeves’ Damage Control

Watros spoke with Soap Opera Digest (SOD), stating, “I think that Nina always suspected that there was more to the story than what Willow was telling her, but she didn’t really want to believe it.” She added, “When Willow finally admitted the whole truth to Nina, it still stung because even though she had her suspicions, having them validated means knowing that her daughter is in a lot of trouble.” Watros adds that Nina is worried about Willow’s mental health, and the saddest part of her daughter’s confession was the blackmail that ended the talk.

The actress states that Willow didn’t need to blackmail Nina, as she would still sacrifice everything to help her.

With that said, Watros does believe that Nina wouldn’t betray Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke), either, which is why she came up with that plan to protect both girls.

How Far Will Nina Reeves Go?

During the Monday, April 20 show, Nina called upon Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) to talk about building a “battered woman” defense for Willow – even though there’s no case against her.

Thinking ahead, and worried that the proverbial poop could hit the fan, Nina wanted to feel out the waters if things go south.

Regarding this move, Watros tells SOD that she loves the fact that Nina “thinks ahead”. She goes on to say, “She’s thinking, ‘Okay, so how can we strategize if people do find out about this? What can we do to protect Willow? Can we maybe use this defense or maybe this one?’”

This leads Watros to admit that “Nina will do pretty much anything to protect Willow.”

But this begs the question: what does Watros mean by “pretty much” anything? It looks like Nina will continue to be an accomplice where drugging Drew is concerned, and keeping him in his locked-in state … but will she cross any further lines?
