General Hospital (GH) spoilers for the week of May 1, 2023 show that there are not many arrivals or departures in Port Charles, New York, but there is a whole contingent of residents flailing around overseas as the week begins. James Ryan debuted last week as Holly Sutton’s (Emmy Samms) sun-bleached son, Ethan Lovett. Fans saw him just a couple of times, and just as fast as he arrived, he has departed.
The character was reintroduced as a captive being sold off to the highest bidder. His mom and Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner), were astonished to discover him but it was Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) who saved him.
GH spoilers: The week of May 1, 2023 An Adventurous Son Departs
After Holly could not come up with the cash for her winning bid, Tracy as the second highest bidder was given Ethan, presumably to kill. All heck broke loose and in the end the last we saw Ethan as he and Holly were on a plane, with her begging him to come back to PC for a visit.
The ashen lad begged off, explaining his Robin Hood gig of robbing the rich to save and empower the poor needed him more.

Holly sighed the sigh of mothers everywhere as she realized her offspring had better things to do than sip tea with mom.
No problem, she turned back up in PC and ran to her ex Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) who was entertaining Diane (Carolyn Hennesy). Awkward.
Elsewhere half of the town was off either trying to save the world or trying to save the world from Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) who soon will not be in this world to care.
