General Hospital (GH) star Josh Swickard (Detective Harrison Chase) was told he was “obnoxious” on his social media. Read on to find out why.

Why Would Kate Say That?

Many people work with Josh Swickard on the ABC daytime soap, and one of them is Kate Mansi. She played Kristina Corinthos-Davis, replacing Lexi Ainsworth but exited via a medical school storyline last month.

Well, it was Kate who told the real-life Detective Harrison Chase that he was “Obnoxious.” Probably, many General Hospital fans wonder why in the world she would say that? Actually, there is a possibility that she chose the word in an effort to be sarcastic and amusing.

The Instagram Post By Josh

This weekend, Josh shared a reel on Instagram. He had his baby, Noah, in a sling. Then in the reel, he said that he was looking for a “charge,” or a “prompt,” and asked his fans to “comment down below.” What was he after?

It seems he hoped that people could share what made them “feel seen” in their relationships.

Of course, General Hospital fans needed no second invitation. Soon they were saying wonderful things about their partners or spouses. Josh had used the words, “kindness that really fills your cup.”

Clearly, there are a lot of fine people out there because so many people posted positive things.

Kate Responded Twice

Kate Mansi was among those who responded, and she related, “When @matt_mcinnis orders me my fav dinner as a ‘date night’ and we FaceTime while he’s on location.”

Swickard liked the comment, and later in the thread she added something else

This time, she wrote, “It’s really obnoxious when you talk like this.” Really? Obnoxious? What does that mean?  According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the word means “odiously or disgustingly objectionable: highly offensive.” However, Kate was clearly using it sarcastically.

She also wrote, “We already have your gorgeous face and then we also have to face your kindest-as-ever heart too!?”

In fact, she used the word in a way that described its exact opposite: delightful.

Reaction From ‘Chase’

Certainly, Josh seemed to have taken it in the spirit it was meant. That’s because he later said in his comments: “Thank you all for the advice and stories. These are so fun to read. A lot of beautiful marriages out there.”

Judging by the replies, many fans shared genuinely loving and supportive stories:

  • Almost every day he will ask, “Have I told you how beautiful you are today?”

  • Every morning he makes my iced coffee. He is romantic, thoughtful.

  • We always say I love you several times a day.

  • We touch, we make all decisions together, we make time for just the two of us.

What do you think about what Kate meant when she said Josh was “obnoxious”? Do you agree it was just her way of being a bit flippant with a friend?
