General Hospital 2026 Preview Spoilers: Who Shot Drew Revealed, Maxie’s Awakening & More Surprises Ahead!

General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal 2025 brought many surprises on General Hospital, and 2026 is set to deliver even more excitement, suspense, and shocking revelations! The head writers, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten, shared a glimpse of the show’s upcoming storylines with a big Port Charles preview.

Who Shot Drew Is Revealed, The Return Of Maxie, And Potentially Deadly Takedowns

A detailed preview of Port Charles reveals upcoming major plotlines, including the mystery of who shot Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). Also,  the return of Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms), and Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) kidnapping, among others, in a new interview with TV Insider.

Unexpected alliances have already formed;  Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) teamed up to take down WSB leader Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna), who is also Carly’s lover.

However, Valentin has a weakness: his daughter, Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke); will Brennan take advantage of this vulnerability, and could it be deadly?

Korte and Van Etten suggested, “Valentin’s bond with Charlotte may be the death of him.” Brennan also has a secret ally, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros); but as their undercover work continues, the writers warned that Nina “may find the cost is more than she can afford.”

Laura And Sonny’s War Against Sidwell Continues

Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) usually find themselves on opposing sides of the law — she is the mayor, while he is the local mob leader — yet they share a common adversary in Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota), who is blackmailing Laura with photos that link her to the murder of Professor Henry Dalton (Daniel Goddard).

The writers revealed that bringing Sidwell down will not be easy, stating that any victory will require significant effort. They also mentioned that Laura will take “drastic measures” to protect her husband, Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom), and her grandson, Ace Cassadine (Kieran and Karis Barry), from becoming victims of Sidwell’s unscrupulous tactics.

General Hospital: Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo)

Marco’s Revenge, Lucas’ Danger, Michael’s Problem

Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo) is frustrated with his dad, Sidwell, as he seeks revenge on Sonny for his mother Natalia Ramirez’s (Eva LaRue) death. He wants to act fast, which could spell trouble for Sonny and his relationship with Lucas (Van Hansis).

Van Etten and Korte noted, “Marco’s impatience leads him to look past Sidwell to get back at Sonny.”

Meanwhile, Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) is working with Jacinda Bracken (Paige Herschell) to avoid jail- Jacinda provided him an alibi for Drew’s shooting, and as they spent time together, real feelings developed.

However, they cautioned that Jacinda will have to testify at Willow Cain’s (Katelyn MacMullen) trial, and her choice to lie about Michael’s alibi could be their downfall.

Kai And Trina Solve The Mystery-But Keep Their Silence?!

The mystery of Drew’s shooting has been a hot topic for months, and viewers will soon get answers-Willow was arrested for shooting the congressman, whom she later married.

However, Korte and Van Etten revealed that amateur detectives Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) and Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) will uncover Drew’s shooter as the story reaches its peak with Willow’s trial.

Fans can expect dramatic and surprising outcomes from Trina and Kai’s findings, as the writers said, “what they do with this information will stun viewers.” The writers also hinted at big moments when the jury decides Willow’s fate, stating, “The verdict and its fallout will reverberate for years to come.” This will affect not just Willow, but also Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante), who might end up as losers, regardless of the verdict.

Jason And Britt Admit Attraction, But Get Stuck In A Blizzard

In the year 2026, matters of the heart will undoubtedly take center stage, but brace yourself for the fact that the journey of true love is unlikely to be a smooth one! According to Korte and Van Etten, while Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) will finally acknowledge their undeniable attraction, they will encounter an immediate hurdle in the shape of Sidwell’s partner-in-crime.

Britt will attempt to suppress her feelings for Jason due to the perilous situation she finds herself in. Yet being trapped together in a blizzard could render that effort nearly impossible.

Lulu’s Crisis, Maxie Wakes Up, Lulu And Nathan Bond

A crisis with Charlotte will lead Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins) to Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) in the new year. The writers revealed that when Lulu’s daughter escapes the cops (because of Valentin’s fugitive status), Nathan will assist Lulu in finding her, leading to a surprising moment.

Lulu developing feelings for Maxie’s “dead” husband could spark major drama, especially since Maxie’s four-month coma is about to change.

Van Etten and Korte confirmed, “Maxie will return in 2026!” They hinted Maxie will “find her world much changed” upon waking. Since she’s unaware Nathan is alive and that he and Lulu have chemistry, that’s an understatement!

Marriage Trouble For Chase And Brook Lynn, Portia’s Paternity Test

Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) have successfully avoided the chaos surrounding his quest to clear his ex-wife Willow’s name.

However, with Chase now suspended from the PCPD and having conflicts with Michael, their happy home life is at risk. In this context, Korte and Van Etten pointed out that Brook Lynn “expresses doubts” about the couple’s plans to have a baby.

At the same time, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) is getting closer to Jordan (Tanisha Harper) and is also pushing pregnant Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) for a paternity test. She may be reluctant to provide it,  even as her connection with her unborn child’s other potential father, Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson), deepens.

Scorpios Trauma

Viewers are aware of something that the residents of Port Charles are not;  Anna is being held captive at Wyndemere. The writers revealed that Anna’s situation worsens “when she hears a voice from her past” and while the clever heroine tries to escape her captors, they have a backup plan ready.

Furthermore, when Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner), Mac Scorpio (John J. York), and Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) unite to attempt Anna’s rescue, it appears the outcome may not meet the family’s expectations.

Van Etten and Korte teased, “What follows will be traumatic for the Scorpios.” There were no hints about exactly  what would happen-and then there’s the offscreen death of Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) eventually.

Quartermaine Payback For Drew, Charlotte Goes Full Cassadine?

So far, Drew has escaped backlash for leaving Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) to die during his heart attack in November-his luck will end as the truth emerges, putting him back in his family’s crosshairs. “Tracy Quartermaine [Jane Elliot] wants to take Drew down, but she’ll have to wait her turn,” they joked.

And this chaos will impact the show’s teens too;  Van Etten and Korte reveal that Charlotte is thinking of going full Cassadine after a betrayal.

This leads Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) to act like his father, Jason, and support her. Meanwhile, Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) is at the heart of new drama, triggering events that will lead to one Port Charles citizen leaving and serious consequences for others.
