General Hospital spoilers, news, and updates tease that Constance Towers is allegedly reprising her role as Helena Cassadine in the upcoming episodes.
There were rumors that Constance Towers will make a short comeback in General Hospital. This news started through a Facebook page with the announcement.
Is it a Legitimate Source?
According to reports, the Facebook page that announced her return is supposedly an official page. It is also said to be maintained by the social media managers of the actress.
But when a spokesperson from the production was interviewed, it is said that they wouldn’t make any comment on the Helena Cassadine return, and they also wouldn’t verify if the page that posted the news were legitimate. But the decision not to confirm anything makes the news more authentic.
The announcement specified that Constance filmed for a couple of episodes, which are expected to be aired this May.
If this is true, this is not the first time Constance reprised her role as Helena. In 2022, she appeared in an episode where her video recording was played during the memorial service for Luke Spencer. It was a pre-recorded video that she had arranged. But the video wasn’t complete as Laura (played by Genie Francis) stopped it.
She also made a couple of appearances since her character died in 2015. The appearances were either in flashbacks or nightmares.
As you may recall, Helena’s cause of death was initially disclosed as natural causes. However, it was later revealed that she was poisoned by her grandson Nikolas Cassadine (played by Tyler Christopher).
But in What Circumstances Helena’s Comeback Would Be?
There are many speculations on how this comeback would play out. Since her pre-recorded video was not fully shown, will it be completed in this comeback?
The announcement includes the information that it would be two episodes. How long are her scenes? Is there a new revelation from her video? Is there a flashback to be expected?
The role of Helena Cassadine was played by a couple of actresses before Constance Towers. Initially, it was played by Elizabeth Taylor. After 15 years (1996), Helena returned, but this time, it was portrayed by Dimitra Arliss. And then Constance Towers took over in 1997.
Apart from General Hospital, Constance also appeared in other TV series as a guest star as well. She appeared in Frasier, Criminal Minds, Playing House, and recently, 9-1-1: Lone Star.
