Cameron Mathison’s New Girlfriend Taelyr Robinson Has Quite a Story

General Hospital (GH) star Cameron Mathison (Drew Cain) went Instagram official with his new girlfriend, Taelyr Robinson, but there’s a lot more to the life of the former Miss Maryland USA than modeling and beauty pageants.

Some Heartbreaking Losses

Taelyr Robinson didn’t have an easy life, and sadly, she lost some people very dear to her. The outlet noted that her “father died of a heart condition. Five months later, she lost her grandmother.”

The new girlfriend of Cameron Mathison grew up in a family with two sisters, but her mother really struggled after her dad died. The family lost their home and they ended up living in a motel.

Looking After Her Siblings

As a young teen, Taelyr had to look after her sisters, helping them out with routine daily tasks because of her mom’s struggles. Tragically, one of her sisters later passed away after a battle with alcohol.

Rather than keeping her experiences private, she decided to tell her story to help highlight the problems that kids face when families struggle with homelessness and poverty.

Modeling and Black Representation

According to Soap Opera Digest, “she began modeling as a child and has since appeared in campaigns for Target, CoverGirl, Bobbi Brown, Tarte Cosmetics, Lilly Pulitzer, and other major brands.”

Pageant Update Info noted that she was crowned Miss Maryland USA on 10 November 2019 and represented Maryland at the Miss USA 2020 pageant in Memphis, Tennessee.

She also used the exposure pageants provided to represent Black women on the Miss USA stage. Four years ago, she said she likes the way pageants give people a voice: “I love the idea of pageants because it gives women a platform to tell their story.”

Yoga and Wellness

A particularly detailed article by The Skinny Confidential revealed a lot about Cameron Mathison’s new girlfriend. The outlet explained that Robinson first started yoga in Southern California, around the same time a friend’s mother introduced her to Louise Hay’s book, “You Can Heal Your Life.”

She tucked that away as a personal habit and later attended personal development course. Additionally, she traveled to Thailand and completed her “yoga teacher training.”

Robinson describes meditation as essential to her routine, helping her stay calm and happy even in the competitive modeling industry. She described modeling as “very cutthroat.”

That early interest in personal development also grew into a devotion to reading, and she read at least one book per week for seven years.

Meeting Cameron

Where she met Cameron Mathison from General Hospital  isn’t clear.  But Soap Opera Digest noted that he mentioned dating on The Becoming Club podcast in June.

She also appeared in some posts that Cameron shared with GH fans this summer. But they were family group shots, and not everyone picked up on her being his new girlfriend.

In one post, ABC daytime fans spotted where Taelyr had responded to his caption. He had written, “Making memories,” and she replied with a row of “🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰.”  Cameron Mathison replied by posting a row of red hearts.

The Birthday Post

On August 25, she directly shared a birthday message about the General Hospital cast member. In that Instagram post, she wrote, “Happy birthday, my love! Another year of being great at literally everything 😋😂💕.”

Cameron replied by saying, “This post…☺️☺️☺️.”

Followers in the comments section talked about how it was “hard launch,” and neither of them denied it. The same with another commenter who wrote, “Instagram official 🥰🥰🥰 cuties.” In reply to that, Cameron put up a Smiling Face emoji.
