General Hospital spoilers say that a lot of fans can’t help but wonder this same thing about Maurice Benard when it comes to his future in Port Charles.
Is he trying to stay as long as he possibly can on the show just because he doesn’t want to retire? That’s what fans can’t help but wonder. Keep reading below for all the details you need to know.
Is Maurice Benard Refusing To Retire?
Maurice, who is best known for his role as Sonny Corinthos on the hit ABC soap, just doesn’t seem to have the same energy on General Hospital like he did before.
In fact, many fans have noticed that the actor has apparently been “phoning it in” lately. In other words, he might not be as dedicated to his craft as he once was before and for a lot of viewers, they can tell.
So, is he trying to ride this out as long as he can just because he doesn’t want to retire? Maybe. Of course, many GH fans had a lot to say about the matter on social media.
Some even commented with, “Pretty sure she’s got a photographic memory cause she knew her lines and his and gave him cues.
I know Maurice gets upset when he gets less screen time, but the more he has to memorize, the worse his line reads are. He’s better when he’s only on two, max three episodes a week.”
Another fan of the show wrote, “I much prefer it when everyone is on for two or three days. I’m so overSonny, Carly and Jason getting all the screen time while others are MIA for weeks at a time.
Do him and us a favor and keep him on a bit less… absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that.”
And then there was this comment as well: “With his abilities to say lines, MB shouldn’t be featured as much as he is. I hope that this is just a side effect of his meds and nothing more serious.”
“While I find Sonny tedious as a character and loathe that he never pays for his crimes, I appreciate the years of good performances he has given.”
