GH’s Steve Burton & Bradford Anderson Team Up for Holiday Whodunit
The General Hospital fan-favorites are taking their longtime partnership beyond Port Charles with a new Christmas mystery movie.
General Hospital (GH) fan-favorites Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli) are creating and will star in an untitled holiday whodunit movie. Read on for details.
The Pitch and the Team
There were rumors that Burton might star in a Hallmark movie this Christmas, but according to Soap Opera Digest, the project brings in Zero Gravity Management, the company behind the Netflix show Ozark. They will handle the production side.
According to a press release, the story is a “holiday whodunit” that brings “quick-witted comedy, [and] holiday romance.” It follows “two unlikely partners as they stumble into a mystery in a charming small town at Christmas.”
It is not expected to be a one-off gig for Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson. The film was “conceived as the first in a franchise,” with the team looking to release a new mystery annually.
What They Said
Michael Fairman TV shared that the GH duo are co-writing and producing the script alongside creative partner Stacy Asencio-Sutphen.
In a statement, Anderson said, “We have the best fans in the world, and the constant question we ask ourselves is: what more can we do to entertain them?”
He added, “When we came up with this idea for a series of holiday films, we knew we had something special.”
Steve Burton seemed excited about working with Bradford, noting the experience “is always a blast.”
He also spoke about the creative partnership moving into filmmaking, saying that “it feels like the next natural step. We can’t wait to bring these stories to life.”
Casting Calls and Questions
Currently, casting is underway for two female leads to star opposite the two men. The actresses will be love interests of Burton and Anderson. However, there are no names mentioned at this time.
There are still a lot of things that we don’t know about the upcoming show, and financing and distribution are still being finalized behind the scenes.
For spoilers, it’s early days yet as the announcement only dropped this week, so General Hospital fans shouldn’t expect more details about the storyline any time soon.
Holiday Crime
A crime story isn’t that far removed from the mobster activity that goes on in Port Charles. Burton and Anderson have also worked together for years, so fans already know how well the two actors play off each other.
