General Hospital: Cameron Mathison Shares Athletic Throwback Photos
ABC fans were thrilled to see that not everything was lost in the Eaton Fire.
General Hospital (GH) star Cameron Mathison lost almost everything when his Altadena home was destroyed in the Eaton Fire in 2025, but he didn’t lose some precious memories and this weekend, ABC fans saw special throwback photos.
The House Fire Losses
When GH fans think of Cameron, who plays the role of Drew Cain, and his lost home, they often assume that nothing was left at all. However, People reported that he wasn’t at all sure the entire place would go up in flames, so he only “took passports, birth certificates and a few photo albums.”
Sadly, some photos of his children when they were very young were left behind. Still, he has some photos of himself as a young man.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Cameron Mathison shared a total of 12 photos from back in the day. In his caption, he explained that they were taken “when I could jump like a madman.”
He told his daytime soap fans that they that included a “Modeling job for Tommy Hilfiger,” an “NBA All Star weekend celebrity dunk off and game,” and a photo from “McGill University.”
He also added, “They used to call me Grover from Sesame Street bc I had skinny arms and legs.”
An Old Friend Was Thrilled
In the comments section, General Hospital fans seemed thrilled to see so many throwback pictures. And one person seemed even more thrilled because of their efforts to help Cameron retain some memories.
It was Yan Joseph, a Canadian actor and former basketball player who reached out. His reply said, “Wow, I was surprised to see you still have the pictures that I sent you from your basketball days at McGill.” That’s because he “thought everything was lost in the fire.”
Then he explained that he “had your pictures all put into an album to send.” Then he asked. “Do you still have the McGill jersey that I sent you as well?”
Mathison acknowledged the comment with a fist-bump emoji, although he didn’t say whether he still has the McGill jersey.
