General Hospital Spoilers: Jack And Nina Marry, PC Shocked At The Marriage Of Convenience!
General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) has been protecting Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna) from Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes).
Will Nina take her protection up a notch, so Jack can have a real family member on his side, and Nina and Jack say their “I do’s” in a marriage of convenience?
First They Need To Get Cullum Banned From Turning Woods
A key first step is to get Cullum banned from Turning Woods.
We will discuss how and why Nina and Jack might enter a marriage of convenience to protect him and to frustrate Cullum.
Recently, we shared a leak from a source we trust, indicating that a marriage of convenience is on the way in General Hospital.
They hinted that it would not involve Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), who are the obvious choices.
Given the current situation, we suspect it could be Nina and Jack who tie the knot.
Nina Isn’t Dosing Drew, So He’s Faking Locked In Syndrome
After Nina accidentally stabbed Jack with a syringe containing Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) paralytic, he was quickly taken to General Hospital.
However, since Nina refused to inject him again, despite Willow Tait Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) urging her to do so, we know Jack does not have locked-in syndrome.
He is clearly pretending; Cullum is plotting to kill Jack, and Jack continues to fake his condition to appear harmless to Cullum.
Jack spoke to Nina, which is why she began to assist him.
Remember, Willow wanted Nina to keep injecting Jack to maintain his locked-in state like Drew’s, but after Jack confided in Nina that he wasn’t truly locked in, she couldn’t go through with it.
Jack’s Life Is Still In Danger From Cullum
If you’ve been watching, you know that Nina is lying to Willow, who thinks Jack is continuing to be dosed-but, of course, he isn’t.
Nina took the syringe she was supposed to inject Jack with and squirted it into a plant-and she told him she’s his only way out of the mess he’s in.
As for Cullum, he still fully intends to take out Jack, and worse yet, he’s got Jack’s medical proxy-which probably is a forgery, but it still gives him power.
Someone who has a patient’s medical power of attorney can do anything they want-fill out do not resuscitate forms, for instance, and sign them for the patient.
Cullum previously had told Jack that he was lucky he had the stroke-of course, now he probably knows it wasn’t a stroke, but the same paralytic that Drew was injected with.
Cullum Believes Jack Can’t Speak
However, Cullum understands that Jack cannot speak out to refute it.
At this moment, Cullum has made up his mind to eliminate Jack, removing him as a potential issue in the future.
But Cullum must tread carefully; after threatening Jack, he became anxious about Cullum’s words and asked Nina to seek help from Valentin.
Now, it seems Carly and Valentin are actually thinking about it.
However, their assistance may not arrive in time. The priority is to prevent Cullum from accessing Jack right now.
Cullum Has Free Reign As Jack’s Medical Proxy
As Jack’s medical proxy, Cullum can visit freely as if he were family.
But if Jack pretends, “Oh, I just regained my ability to speak,” he could switch his medical proxy to Nina; to further safeguard himself, Jack and Nina could marry while he is still at Turning Woods.
From that point on, as Jack’s loving new wife, Nina could handle all medical decisions; she can stop Cullum from entering Jack’s room.
If she chooses, Nina could even take Jack out of Turning Woods, and she could bring him home to continue his recovery.
Naturally, Cullum would be furious if he lost control over Jack, although even then, Cullum would still be scheming to kill Jack, regardless of the situation.
Nina Would Have Control From That Point, With Cullum Rendered Helpless
Nonetheless, it would be significantly more challenging for Cullum to kill Jack with Nina acting as a gatekeeper, keeping a vigilant watch over Jack.
Nina could truly become a major obstacle for Cullum; the fact that Jack and Nina are in a marriage of convenience would also prove beneficial if any legal issues arise.
This arrangement means that neither Jack nor Nina could be interrogated by any government body regarding each other’s actions, thanks to spousal privilege.
They cannot be compelled to testify against one another concerning any past or future legal or criminal matters.
Port Charles Would Flip Over Jack And Nina Marrying
However, if Jack and Nina do tie the knot, it would turn Port Charles on its head-many individuals would be utterly shocked, particularly Carly and Valentin.
One can only imagine their reactions if their ex-partners were to marry; it’s not that Carly or Valentin desires their exes back; it’s doubtful they would feel jealousy.
Carly has made it abundantly clear to Jack that she despises him for involving Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) with the WSB and endangering her daughter.
Meanwhile, Valentin harbors resentment towards Jack for betraying him after years of friendship, and Carly would seethe over Nina co-opting one of her old boyfriends once again!
