General Hospital (GH) fans might think they know everything there is to know about Cameron Mathison (Drew Cain). However, he’s a diverse character with plenty of safety nets if a villain should choose to outvillain him on the ABC daytime show.

More Than A Fictional Role

The intriguing side of Cameron doesn’t only come from his role as Ryan Lavery on All My Children. And, while he looks very set in the character of Drew Cain on GH, he’s also particularly good in front and behind the cameras.

Perhaps you’ve see him interviewing Oscar winners on a red carpet. Or the next day discussing his home burning down.

On another day, you might find him on social media giving a breakdown on Port Charles spoilers.

This weekend, Cameron Mathison took to his Instagram and shared a reel that showed him with the Good Morning America crew.

In his caption, he wrote:

A Familiar Face 

Did you know that the real-life Drew Cain freelanced for GMA before signing on as a regular correspondent in January 2009? So, he didn’t always act out fiction storylines, per Soap Central. 

However, he does have a certain fluid charm that works very well in fiction and as a morning host. Either way, ABC fans get the idea that he was definitely born to live out a lot of his life on TV.

Live TV Is Never Easy

Sometimes, live broadcasting trips people up. Not often, but occasionally. However, even the most seasoned hosts hit a technical glitch now and then. But it seems that nobody pointed fingers at Cameron for doing that.

Even if he did make a blooper, most people would forgive him for that. That’s because he always seems so sweet and charming in Hallmark Christmas Movies.

Learning More About Cameron

Cameron Mathison seems particularly talented when it comes to career choices. After all, he’s able to switch roles easily enough even if a beloved daytime soap comes to an end. Somehow, he always manages to show up with a laid-back, easy smile.

There’s another side to the General Hospital star that not everyone might know about. Did you know that back in 2007, he was associated with Dancing with the Stars?

Then he swung to being a GMA correspondent in 2009. Word in the history books suggests time with Entertainment Tonight as well.

Certainly, it seems that if the walls close in on daytime drama he’s well able to switch to somewhere else without too much trouble. And you can probably bet your last dollar, it will be in front of a TV camera
