General Hospital Spoilers: Valentin Cracks Faison’s Deadly Puzzle Box – Prototype Shutdown Ahead?
General Hospital spoilers and updates tease Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) has a plan to shut down the prototype of Cesar Faison’s (Anders Hove) last project.
It is a cold fusion weapon that Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) is supposed to finish, but how will he shut it down; has he solved the puzzle of the conundrum box?
In 2018 A Conundrum Box Was Found With A Cassadine Crest
On April 23, 2018 at the Eisenschaft Bank office in Switzerland, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) asked Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) to find out some information.
He wanted to know if Henrik Faison aka Peter August (Wes Ramsey) or Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) have a safe-deposit box.
Jason goes with the bank manager Herr Bruhl (uncredited) to retrieve the box-inside were various items including a black box with the Cassadine family crest on it.
Spinelli warned Jason not to open it or they are dead, explaining it was a conundrum box and is designed to be opened by one specific person.
If anyone else tries to open it, the box will self-destruct-Spinelli wonders if the box was meant for Faison or Henrik.
Spinelli Went To Robert Scorpio With The Box
Later Spinelli showed the box to Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) who recognized what it was too and took it to the WSB; on April 27, Robert visited Valentin and questioned him about the box.
He pointed out that it has the same crest as Valentin has tattooed on his arm and it was found in Faison’s belongings. Robert explained that it is called a conundrum box and Valentin recognized the name; Robert said it has an impenetrable alloy and cannot be scanned.
Valentin suggests looking at Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) since she worked with Faison-he didn’t work with him, but he did sell some of his weapons as a mercenary.
That came out when Charlotte Cassadine (now Bluesy Burke) and Jake Webber (Hudson West) tried to use the Chimera, a dangerous weapon containing a virus, made by Faison, in a magic act-Valentin knew what it was and destroyed it.
The Conundrum Box Was Never Mentioned Again
Robert said lab results revealed that the box was made in the last six months, and gave Valentin a picture of the box and left. On May 2, Robert talked to Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) about the box; she said the logical assumption is that the box was meant for Helena.
On May 11, Valentin told Anna that he does remember seeing a box like the conundrum box on Cassadine Island.
He offered to dig up some information but she turned him down. The conundrum box was never mentioned again and Valentin never tried to open it-possibly, until recently.
Might Valentin Have Solved The Puzzle Of The Conundrum Box?
Might Valentin be the one person who was meant to open the conundrum box, does it contain the instructions to put a stop to Faison’s last project, a cold fusion weapon?
Considering he ran Pikeman for Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna) which dealt in dangerous weapons, might he have reacquired the puzzling and mysterious box?
When Brennan was the WSB director and he and Valentin were working together, there were a lot of weapons sold from the WSB warehouses.
Like Valentin stopped the Chimera, destroying it, he seems poised to destroy Faison’s cold fusion weapon as well-he seemed familiar with it when he was still in Steinmauer.
That’s one thing that Brennan was trying to get out of him before he escaped, so he may know who took it from the WSB, possibly while Jack was in Pentonville!
