Sydney Mikayla Talks Life After GH & New Projects
GH's Trina Robinson alum Sydney Mikayla opens up about producing new thriller 'Crybaby Bridge' and her future ambition.

Sydney Mikayla, the General Hospital (GH) alum who played the role of Trina Robinson, recently opened up about her new producer role. Did you know she’s been working on an upcoming thriller called Crybaby Bridge? Read on to find out a bit more.
Updates On A Podcast
Ahead of the weekend, the real-life Trina Robinson gave some updates when she appeared on The Chris & Sandy Show on YouTube. Well, as she grows a bit older, it seems she doesn’t wait around for the phone to ring. Instead, she goes out there and creates her own career.
Of course, she talked about how her life right now seems like “every actor’s dream to get a really meaty role and to be able to like pick it apart.”
Her Start On Daytime TV
Sydney Mikayla did well on General Hospital but she started off as a one-off “day player.” Back in 2019, the teen actress was supposed to have only a few lines.
However, she showed up, became a recurring character, and eventually landed a contract. In fact, she did well enough to score two Daytime Emmy nominations.

Talking about that, she noted, “You literally never know who’s watching.”
Moving On
Moving on and talking about her current project, Sydney reminded folks about the storyline for Crybaby Bridge. Actually, it drops on March 26, 2026. In it, she has the role of a pregnant 16-year-old searching for peace in the Poconos.
Instead of peace, she simply finds a bunch of secrets. Notably, it’s a thriller, and Sydney really hopes that her fans feel “unsettled” when they watch it.
Acting Takes Tons Of Hard Work
Mikayla also talked about how being a success in daytime dramas or any other acting genre takes a lot of hard work. In line with that, she recalled how when she acted as young Gabby Douglas, her parents drove her to every audition.
Probably you recall that it was by Lifetime, and titled The Gabby Douglas Story. Filmed in 2014, it focused on how the real Gabby became an Olympic gymnast. That was another role that won her some accolades, including a Young Artist Award .
However, her parents disrupted their lives for her. Did you know that they moved to Canada for six weeks back then? Talking about grind and moving, she also told her fans, “I think it takes 10 good years to actually see the fruition of anyone’s work.”
What’s Next
By now, you know that leaving GH and going back to school stood her in good stead. After all, these days, she’s into producing .
One of the highlights for the former General Hospital star is that the Gabby Douglas story brought something she could relate to. After all, both of them were young Black Americans living a dream.
But, if you think she’s topped it all with her ambitions, you’d be wrong. To this day, she holds a plan close to her heart to start a nonprofit. Each day, she opens her journal and writes about her goals. Maybe once her life direction is “settled,” she’ll flag that up with a bookmark in her diary.
Unfortunately, nobody yet commented on the podcast, which seems a bit unusual. Maybe they were all scrolling about the war in Iran.
However, from past interviews and comments, GH fans know that she’s a determined woman. Actually, by producing her own projects, Sydney Mikayla proves that a little “preparation plus opportunity” goes a long way.
