General Hospital Spoilers: Willow’s Latest Move Shows Just How Far She’ll Go
General Hospital spoilers suggest Willow Tait Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) has a pretty twisted history in Port Charles, and her future isn’t looking all that bright either.
Willow might be deluded enough to have convinced herself that this new role as Congresswoman is going to reshape her life into something more fortuitous, but she has another thing coming if she thinks she’ll be able to pull it off on her own.
Is Willow truly ready for the kind of power that she seems to be boasting about in her one-on-one chats with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) as he lies in a hospital bed contending with what she has done to him?
Where There’s a Man, There’s a Way
Recall that when we first met Willow, she was on the run from a cult leader named David ‘Shiloh’ Archer (Coby Ryan McLaughlin).
She spent years with him letting him run her life and manipulate her every thought. Even when she met Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson), she seemed to mold herself to fit into his world, never really finding her own identity.
She saw that as Michael rescuing her from herself though, the same way Drew saved her life, and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) is currently standing up to fight for her when no one else has.
Yes, Willow has a real problem with deferring to the men in her life, but the next one is going to have a bit more strategy in mind than romance.
Nina is Not Enough
Remember last week when Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) accompanied Willow during her interview with Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening).
Who could forget, right? Every cringeworthy moment was rooted in the reality that Willow has no idea what she’s doing.
Moreover, she’s not very good at pretending she does, which is a hallmark must for any politician. As Nina stepped away from the table and reminded her daughter that “she’s got this,” panic seemed to settle in for Willow. It’s just the beginning of that.
Sidwell Swoops In
Don’t count Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) out just yet. He was able to nudge Willow in the direction he wanted her to go in, but now he has to use that tool to his advantage, and we can be certain he intends to.
He was pulling all the puppet strings before, when Drew was the legislator in office. Now, Sidwell probably expects that Willow is going to be even easier to manage.
Expecting a total pushover, will Willow push back as she seeks to expand her power and ramp up her plans to seek custody of her children, using her new position to do it? If Sidwell starts to prioritize his own goals and complicates Willow’s, how might she seek to deal with him? We’ve seen the way she treats the men in her life.
At the same time, it’s likely that he’ll see how pliable she is because she’s never had to really stand on her own two feet and direct her own life. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers just ahead.
