General Hospital Spoilers: Is Rocco Truly Innocent — or Showing Early Signs of a Dark Downward Spiral?

General Hospital Spoilers: Is Rocco Truly Innocent — or Showing Early Signs of a Dark Downward Spiral?General Hospital spoilers claim Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) has seen his fair share of ups and downs this past year.

His mom, Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening), waking from a four-year-long coma was a shock, but it filled Rocco’s heart with joy. Still, that doesn’t mean her emergence from such a hiatus on the heels of Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) death wasn’t a lot to handle.

Furthermore, he had to splinter off into a new living arrangement with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), one that kept him away from Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) and Emily ‘Scout’ Cain (Cosette Abinante) — both of whom had become like siblings to him.

Since Lulu woke up, he has dealt with his parents’ conflicting feelings toward one another, the news that they didn’t exactly choose to have him the way he thought they did his whole life, a dangerous introduction to alcohol, and now a burgeoning criminal record. Can Rocco right this course, or is it all too little too late for him?

 Last Year Was Brutal

Sam’s death really hit Rocco hard. While she wasn’t his mother, she was the closest thing he had to it during his teenage years while Lulu was sleeping.

That was the first time he felt like he had a nuclear family experience in ages, and then it was all ripped away from him.

He also had to endure watching his father grieve over Sam’s unexpected death — all the while knowing it wasn’t in vain because it saved Lulu’s life. That’s a lot for a kid that age to process, and no one really paid it any mind when he started exhibiting unusual behavior.

GH Spoilers Gossip Dante and Lulu Haven’t Made Things Easier

Listen, I’m not poo-pooing their parenting, but Dante and Lulu have been so wrapped up in their own emotions that they haven’t done their best at making sure they understand how their son feels.

Dante is so furious with his lack of control over his teenaged son that he keeps lashing out at the other one he allegedly wants to get closer to.

The first time was one thing. He didn’t know Giovanni ‘Gio’ Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) was his son when he blamed him for not getting help for Rocco sooner after he drank too much at a college party.

But Gio playing any role in getting Rocco into that lab and arrested was a bridge too far for Dante. Meanwhile, Lulu can’t seem to focus on Rocco’s needs as much as she is focused on how he isn’t meeting hers every time he lies to her and ices her out.

Her fear that she is going to lose him to Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) keeps trumping her maternal instincts that should seek to protect and respect him.

Can We Turn Back the Clock?

It’s entirely possible that this little legal snafu gets cleaned up and Rocco bounces back from the hard lesson learned with a better head on his shoulders, but it’s not looking like that is the path the GH writers are on.

He and Danny have both stuck their neck out a time or two in places they shouldn’t have — often after conspiring with one another to do it.

A series of upsetting and traumatic events have transpired in the last year that may have set Rocco on a course that could change his life. Will he clean up his act, or is Rocco bound to turn out a whole lot more like his grandfather Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) than his dad? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
