General Hospital star Maurice Benard, the crime boss, Sonny Corinthos, stepped into a real-life hint that Marcus Coloma should kidnap Kin Shriner. Marcus, of course, played the role of Nikolas Cassadine and Kin was the lawyer, Scott Baldwin. Read on for more details.
The Kidnap Plot
Folks who watch the ABC daytime drama might recall that in 2019, Cassandra Pierce, played by Jessica Tuck, tried to blackmail Nikolas Cassadine, then portrayed by Marcus Coloma. She threatened to reveal his dark secrets if he didn’t help her break out of prison.
To pressure him, she brought up his past, mentioning how he had once helped her escape from the WSB and his involvement in the kidnapping of several people. Perhaps that motivated Maurice’s crazy proposal this weekend.
It came on Instagram stories, when Maurice Benard told fans that Marcus is over on Facebook. In the reel, he talked about how Marcus could go “viral.” That’s when he suggested they kidnap Kin. Well, that would work for clicks.
A Terrible Idea
However, Marcus thought it was a terrible idea. He said, “You wanna kidnap Kin Shriner?” Unsurprisingly, he seemed a bit shocked. But Maurice explained, “We make it look real. And then when we take the mask off,…”
Well, Marcus told him the obvious: “that’s illegal.” Nevertheless, Maurice argued that “it’s not illegal if he’s our friend.” And, they could get a “million” from the stunt.
Obviously, they joked. And it also seems that the duo plan on doing a series. In a way, it seemed to be a mockery of the storylines on General Hospital, in a nice way.
Marcus & Maurice Started Speculation
Recently, Marcus and Maurice have been hanging around together. And one reel revealed them walking down the street together. At the time, it sparked hopes that Marcus would return to the ABC show. That hasn’t happened yet, but there’s always room for hope.
Instead, they seem to hang around just making reels and generally entertaining GH fans on social media. Perhaps it’s all part of Maurice’s secret retirement plans.
Retirement Hints?
While he says he’ll be around on the soap for some time to come, lots of people think he’s secretly wrapping things up. After all, he also said that he’s moving his State of Mind podcast behind a paywall. That could be a way to keep the dollars rolling in if he hangs up his acting career.
Actually, Marcus Coloma has been on Facebook for a while now. But so far, he hasn’t posted anything that seemed likely to go massively viral.
