General Hospital Spoilers: Michael’s Girlfriend Is on the Payroll — But Could Their Fake Romance Turn Real?
General Hospital spoilers boast Jacinda Bracken (Paige Herschell) is a real wildcard, and Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) has just hitched his wagon to her horse, for better or for worse.
Okay, they aren’t headed for a white wedding, but it’s hard to tell just yet where this new couple will end up. You read that right. Mikey is prepared to pay Jacinda to be his new girlfriend.
Is anyone else getting Richard Gere and Julia Roberts vibes? There’s just one problem. While Julia’s character in Pretty Woman might have put her foot in her mouth a time or two, she never lost her cool the way Jacinda has been known to.
That clapback to Michael about her emotions not being for rent was no joke. It sounds like she’s got a complex history that led to her working as an escort, and with Michael spending more time with her, we just might find out what that is.
A heart of gold storyline could lead to a whole lot more than an alibi for these two schemers.
Michael Has His Eyes on the Prize
Right now, Michael’s sole focus is making sure his children are never exposed to his ex-wife again.
He doesn’t trust Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen), and he wants to see her locked up for the foreseeable future so that his children grow up without her influence. Since Judge Eva Heran’s (Tessa Auberjonis) death, Michael is feeling less than secure about his options for keeping custody of Wiley and Amelia Corinthos (Viron Weaver, Sequoia and Serenity Mork Macko).
If he has to twist some arms, stage some evidence, or frame someone to keep his kids safe, that’s what any Corinthos father would do, right?
GH Spoilers Gush Jacinda’s Trust Barometer is Broken
Let’s take a step back for a moment. Jacinda has been pretty cutthroat since she first came into the picture.
She had no problem drugging a man and taking money to sleep with him. She had no problem giving Michael, a virtual stranger, an alibi on the night that a Congressman was shot. But him offering to pay her to be his girlfriend seemed to cross the line and trigger a visceral reaction in her.
She felt the need to stand up for herself and remind that she has boundaries and that every part of her isn’t for sale.
However, moments later, she was assuring Michael that she believes him when he says he didn’t shoot Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), even though he clearly needs an alibi for that night.
A Love Story in the Making?
For as long as the Quartermaines have reigned supreme in Port Charles, there have been family feuds that have kept this family alive at the same time that they threatened to squash any future lineage.
As we mourn the loss of family matriarch Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) and accept that figureheads like Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) won’t be around forever (she already retired once before, after all), fans are thinking the Quartermaine family will need new leadership.
Michael seems ripe for the picking, but he needs a woman by his side who could really lead a family, and we’re thinking someone like Jacinda — with her quick wit, her willingness to compromise her morals, and her fierce instincts — could take up that mantle.
A rags to riches glommer-on that marries up on Michael’s arm? Who better to drive Tracy crazy in Monica’s place? Can you see Michael and Jacinda pretending to be in love and ending up there by the time Willow’s court case plays out? As there is now a new Michael persona on canvas, Jacinda does not appear to be the right match for Michael, but then again she just maybe the answer to a larger and different future for Michael #2. As Michael #2 is being presented as much more fierce than Michael #1 ever has been, why not throw a questionable match for the character into to the ever burning Quartermaine fire. Could prove to be very interesting.
