General Hospital Spoilers: No “Stone” Left Unturned, Theories On Who Exactly Is Targeting Sonny Corinthos

General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate fans have been buzzing on social media ever since the proverbial “Stone” was dropped when Selina Wu’s (Lydia Look) guard, Li (Samuel Wang) hinted about who is targeting Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), and all the mobsters in the area.

Li told Sonny and Selina that the go-between referred to his boss as “Stone” during a phone call conversation. So, which “Stone” is “The Stone” coming after Corinthos?

GH spoilers hint that many viewers began to wonder if the mystery shooter going by the name of “Stone” is none other than John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington).

After all, Stone Cates (Michael Sutton), the young man who meant a lot to Sonny, but died in the 1990s was John’s brother. Some GH fans have speculated that the FBI agent could be using the name as an alias to honor his brother.

Speaking of, some viewers are also speculating that “Stone” is the Stone Cates! While Stone had quite the final death on the show, and has also returned as a ghost, no one is truly dead in the land of soaps, right?

After all, Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) also once visited Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough) as a ghost when he was presumed dead, yet as fans know, he’s currently living his best life in Port Charles, with Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy).

Still, another important thing for viewers to remember is that John also named his own son, Stone, to honor his brother. While he mentioned Stone had autism as a child, that doesn’t necessarily mean that his son couldn’t be the perpetrator. He is a grown man now at this point.

GH Spoilers: Someone Close To Sonny Corinthos

It’s also hard not to forget that whoever is targeting Sonny could be close to him. It’s been said that Corinthos could have a traitor in his ranks, but then again, the assailant might also be close to the mob boss, as he blew threw his security during the shoot-out at Sonny’s Puerto Rican island.

This could place an even stronger case that the mystery shooter is Stone Cates, or it could also be someone else who was thought to be dead but, not.

Morgan Coritnhos (Bryan Craig) also had the middle name of Stone to honor Sonny’s long-passed friend. The fact that Olivia Jerome (Tonja Walker) was a mob queen who was the latest victim in all this would make sense as she was behind Morgan’s car explosion that caused his (so-called) demise.

Then again, with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) set to return to Port Charles on Monday, March 4 (eekk!), the very fact that his nickname is “Stone Cold”, could be setting the stage for him to be “Stone”.

Sure, it’s only Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) that refers to him as that, but still. Actor Steve Burton recently revealed during his podcast that this storyline isn’t going in the direction that some fans may be thinking, but he also could’ve been trying to swerve GH audiences, right?
