General Hospital spoilers and updates tease that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will make Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) an offer, but he’ll refuse it. Sonny wants to use his resources to protect Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) by finding Esmé Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) and make sure she doesn’t turn up again like a bad penny.
General Hospital Spoilers: A Long And Fraught History
It’s been a good many years since the mission of former Port Charles Police Detective Marcus Taggart was to take Sonny Corinthos down. Longtime viewers will remember that Taggert and Sonny have a long and fraught history going back to the days when both were young kids in Bensonhurst. Sonny’s abusive stepfather, Officer Deke Woods (mentioned character) mentored Taggert as a child while beating Sonny and his mother at home.
Taggert never knew that side of his mentor, and he inspired him to become a cop. When he got out of police academy he became Deke’s partner, but when Deke was killed by Joe Scully, Sr. (Robert Miano) he blamed Sonny.
GH Spoilers: Not That Kind Of Help
Even though Sonny had tried to help Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) in her court case by sending Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) to pay off the jury foreman, it wasn’t needed. Still, Sonny’s heart was in the right place even if his methodology left something to be desired; but Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) is still his nephew and Trina’s friend.
He may not be her best friend Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) stepfather anymore, but he knew that girlfriend of Spencer’s was trouble. Esmé has skipped town it would seem and Sonny offers his resources to Taggert to make sure she doesn’t come back to make more trouble; Taggert refuses. He doesn’t want that kind of help and still doesn’t trust his former enemy even though it’s been years and they worked together against Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).
General Hospital Spoilers: He Starts Digging Anyway
Sonny decides to have his connections start digging for Esmé anyway because he knows there’s something fishy going on, whether Taggert ultimately appreciates his efforts or not. He has Brick (Stephen A. Smith) research Esmé’s social media and he comes across the same lead the PCPD did. However, Brick also finds her social media account was hacked and it’s a false lead-Sonny’s very interested in who might hack it and why.
Sonny thinks perhaps either someone made the girl disappear or helped her change her identity. But he still wants to verify if she’s no longer a problem and if he tracks her down and she is, he’ll take care of it.
