General Hospital’s Emma Samms On The End Of Robert And Holly…For Now

General Hospital spoilers reveal Robert Scorpio looking at a lonely future now that Holly Sutton is gone once again.

General Hospital Spoilers: Robert Was Hoping For A Real Holly Reunion

For more than two years, GH fans have watched a lonely Robert (Tristan Rogers) mourn his Holly while doing his job as Port Charles District Attorney. Imagine his shock and joy when Holly turned up alive in the Quartermaine boat house. He thought they would finally have another chance together, but that wasn’t meant to be.

Instead, it turned out that Holly was being forced to work for Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) and she was ready to do anything to find and rescue her son. To that end, Robert, Holly, and Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) devised an elaborate plan to make it seem like Holly had burns on 75% of her body so she could then take off into the night when everyone else thought she was going off to a burn unit and may not make it.

Holly and Robert shared a tender goodbye that was a treat to their many longtime fans and Emma Samms couldn’t have been happier.

Emma Samms Loved How It All Turned Out

Samms was only slated to do a short stint at GH this time around because she wasn’t sure how working with Long COVID would be for her, but the show was more than accommodating to her health needs and she was able to give fans a treat with lots of nostalgia.

“She and Robert have great empathy for each other and great affection, and great love, without a doubt,” Samms said in the December 12, 2022, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “You see that connection between them is still really burning strong and if it wasn’t for these circumstances, they would probably be right back where they were, working together.”

All of this means Samms would be thrilled for a return, but not on a permanent basis. She’d love to come back, but “not full-time because my life is…in England but certainly if they’ll have me, I think it would be a marvelous thing.”

Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see if Holly makes another Port Charles comeback any time soon.
