Cassadine Links Between Danny & Charlotte
So, let’s unpack Danny and Charlotte’s lineage, starting with Char-Char. Charlotte’s parents are Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Lulu Spencer (Alexis Havins Bruening). Meanwhile, Danny’s parents are Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco).
With that said, it’s important to remember that Sam’s mom is Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), who has Cassadine roots.
This is where things get messy! Valentin’s mom is the late Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) and the late Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy).
Victor was brothers with Mikkos Cassadine (John Colicos), Alexis’s father. This makes Valentin and Alexis first cousins, which GH viewers may recall, thus making Danny and Charlotte second cousins.
Becoming Close Friends Or More?
Danny, Charlotte, and Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) have been like the three musketeers as of late. While Charlotte and Rocco are blood (half) siblings, Rocco and Danny are siblings through circumstance (stepbrothers).
Still, it was interesting this week when Charlotte texted Danny, and they spent some one-on-one time. Different people may have differing views on a pair of second cousins having a young romance.
However, it’s hard to judge if the two were simply becoming closer friends or if GH writers have something “more” in mind.
For fans who have close family ties with their second cousins, there is a major “ick” factor with the idea of Danny and Charlotte becoming romantically involved.
While the DNA shared between second cousins is limited, it is still there, so what kind of direction is General Hospital going with Danny and Charlotte? Only time will tell!
